Community & Social Media Manager


OnPoint Systems makes the SpotOn Virtual Fence, which uses patented GPS technology to contain your dog anywhere you go. Users walk the perimeter of a containment area and set it on our GPS-enabled dog collar. The collar communicates with satellites and warns dogs if they get too close to the boundary, effectively keeping them in bounds. It’s an innovation in that it’s the first truly wireless solution meaning you can use it everywhere from your backyard to grandma’s house to a campground. We launched in 2019 and have been named a Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Innovation Awards Honoree for 2020, SXSW Finalist in the Wearables Category 2020, Product of the Year from the NH Tech Alliance, American Business Awards, Product of the Year (consumer tech), and Best New Pet Tech by Wired Magazine and USA Today.

We are looking for an energetic and organized Community & Social Media Specialist with a creative eye to help us grow our social media, influencer, and ambassador communities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with brand manager to develop and execute SpotOn’s social media strategy
  • Define social media KPIs and goals, manage and grow the company’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Source or create shareable content appropriate for these networks to position the SpotOn brand to attract and engage our target customers
  • Publish engaging content that will drive users to the SpotOn website
  • Respond to comments and messages within 24 hours & coordinate accordingly with the Customer Service team
  • Conduct outreach on social media to interact with potential customers and influencers, educate them about SpotOn, and establish our thought leadership in the dog space. This includes finding Facebook groups or Reddit lists where our knowledge can be helpful and grow a following.
  • Monitor the social landscape for potential consumer insights and pain points
  • Execute organic campaigns such as giveaways and contests to grow followers and improve engagement on social media
  • Manage influencer and brand ambassador programs to grow the reach of advocates for SpotOn. This includes reaching out to our best customers for quotes, product testing, or support on social media.
  • Work with the senior designer to spec and develop custom graphic and video content
  • Run SpotOn live Q&A sessions (with a Customer Service team member)
  • Manage customer testimonial program – from initial outreach to case study development
  • Provide regular reporting on social media metrics and analysis of which tactics are working and which are not
  • Provide reporting on all social campaigns and initiatives
  • Edit photos and videos for social media and write engaging copy for posts

 Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience managing social media for a consumer brand. Must have strong knowledge of Facebook and Instagram.
  • Experience managing influencer, ambassador, or partnership programs is strongly preferred. Additionally, sales or relationship management roles will be considered.
  • Excellent organizational skills and can multi-task without dropping critical projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required. You must be comfortable speaking with influencers, ambassadors, and customers on the phone.
  • Proven creative eye and able to do light photo editing for social media. Proficiency with a light photo tool like Canva required.
  • Light video editing for social media a plus.
  • Not afraid of Excel or numbers and recognizes that social media needs to be measured to know what’s working.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite & PowerPoint a plus.
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Experience working with dogs either professionally or personally a plus. Comfort with touching and working with dogs required.
