I love the SpotOn system. Not only does it give my dogs the freedom to run on my 40 acres, but it gives me peace of mind. While on vacation recently I hired a pet sitter. I was able to “check in” on my dogs from states away to see their activity and if their collars needed charging. There was an issue with one of the collars and I called support (on a Sunday). They in turn called my pet sitter and walked her through a fix. By far the best customer service I’ve experienced in many years!

Sure, I'd be happy to help you write a review for the SpotOn dog collar! Here's a draft you can use:

**SpotOn Dog Collar Review**
I recently purchased the SpotOn dog collar, and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. This product is truly amazing and works exactly as described.
From the moment I started using it, I noticed a significant improvement in my dog's safety and my peace of mind. The GPS tracking feature is incredibly accurate, allowing me to keep an eye on my dog's location at all times. Whether we're at home or out on an adventure, I can always ensure my furry friend is safe.
The setup was straightforward, and the collar itself is durable and comfortable for my dog to wear. The battery life is impressive, lasting long enough to cover our daily activities without needing frequent recharges.
Overall, the SpotOn dog collar has exceeded my expectations. It provides the reliability and functionality I was looking for, and I highly recommend it to any dog owner who wants to ensure their pet's safety and enjoy some peace of mind.

Jaunty has a lot of roaming space. BUT 200 yards one direction is a busy road. He now knows he can go anywhere but in the dangerous direction. Works like a charm. We have correction on level 2 and he has only ‘escaped’ twice!

Ginger's life is so much more joyful with her SpotOn collar! She gets to follow her nose all over the yard without a tether. If we lead her through the magic gate (the only one she will exit the "Yard" fence through and change her fence to "Farm," she can wander the pastures and creek with us. We first tried the collar when she was 9 months old and were SO disappointed. She laid down and froze with the tones only. With distractions such as children or ducks though, she would bolt right away. We packed it up and she had to be on leash again. About 6 months later, my husband got it out and started the training process again. Oh my goodness! It was intuitive for her this time and within a week she was enjoying life unleashed. I guess that it was a maturity thing? We have also been extremely happy with the customer service received. It is also an amazing perk that we get to enjoy new innovations that are added to the collar's software. The light and whistle were like a surprise present. This was a big investment that has been totally worth it.

I have had a SpotOn collar for my dog for almost two years. We live in a forested area and have an adopted hound with a very strong prey drive. After a few training glitches and taking advantage of the support trainer, our dog Bree has learned to stay within her boundaries! She happily waits for her collar to be put on in the morning so she can head out the door on a hunt for squirrels and/or deer. She has come to an abrupt stop at her boundary while in pursuit of deer on more than one occasion! The forest mode, the two auditory signals and the adjustable level of shock work for us. I have had to call the help line a few times because of glitches. I have found that the support staff can walk me through any problem that has arisen. They have always been kind and professional in helping me. I would highly recommend this collar and its support staff!

We bought spot on collar a few months ago. we have 25 acres and 24 of it is heavily wooded, we have never had any issues with Tar leaving the property. Recently my fatyer accidentally took the charging base with the collar and put in on the pup and they were so quick to replace the charger free of charge. While waiting on the charger Tar knocked his collar off (never happened prior) but I called again and spoke with Olivia and she was so kind and understanding and help send me a replacement in just a few minutes. They genuinely seem to care about the customer (human and canine) I'm definitely buying another collar for the new dog who someone threw out near us and decided to adopt us. It's worth every penny and I've never seen a company so dedicated to customer satisfaction. 5 stars and all my praise. Thank you for all you do

I raise and train Belgian Malinois and those who know the breed understand the athletic abilities. Well my fences are a mere suggestion to them hehe. I have 2 especially that like to wander around the outside of the fence. Did my research and these collars always came out on top. Let me tell you, they are leaps ahead of every other product out there! When I can afford them my other 6 will have them! The zones you can add is perfect! Pull the trigger people! You WONT be disappointed ! Oh and the customer service…. Never had a better experience with anything in my life!!

We have two dogs, Duncan (almost 3yo Black Lab rescue) and Dabo (almost 2yo Rat Terrier). We live on about 20 acres with a creek running through the back. Duncan had the bad habit of running into the swamp and chasing deer outside the yard into the road. For safety, exercise, and general wellbeing, we decided, after a fair amount of research, to try Spot On Collars. Dabo picked it up very quickly and Duncan has it down now (it took him a little longer and we figured out if we did our best to line up the fence with a physical indicator - like a line of trees, it helped). Now, we are able to let them run around and play - especially with going back into the office a few days a week, it’s been so good for them to get their energy out and not feel so cooped up. We’ve taken them on vacation and set up additional fences with great success. It’s been good for them and good for us! We’ve been using the collars in earnest for a solid year - had one incident where Dabo was running so quickly, it preemptively gave him a warning but he turned around without incident. We did have to send back the collars for replacement batteries but the transaction went smoothly and quickly (and was free except for maybe shipping?). The doggos can be pretty rough playing around, so I didn’t really see this as a big issue. Anyways, great product, great service, happy dogs!

So far so good! Calvin is shepard english mastive mix, that loves to run. The app is easy to use and the training videos are helpful. I choose this collar because of the reviews and the forest mode. Calvin is staying with in the fense.

Great customer service and the collar works exactly as I hoped. It keeps my dogs in my yard. I highly recommend this collar.

We bought the collars last year when it became evident that my dogs weren't going to resist temptations off the property. One of those was the neighbors LGD that would regularly come by and start fights. We have a commercial orchard that means we cannot physically fence the property. We have tried various wireless fences in the past with little to zero success.
We are so happy to have found SpotOn!
I can relax now when i have the dogs outside with me and am occupied doing other chores. I know the dogs are on the property and are safe from vehicles etc.
This fence system has changed our lives for the better!
And any time I've had questions or concerns with the collars, the customer service is outstanding.
I've told all of my friends and family about these collars.
Thank you to SpotOn for a much more safe and happy life with my dogs!

My life has changed since we got SpotOn this week. It was easy to set up and works perfectly. Gone are the days of the rope! Gino is getting familiar with the boundaries and is now free to roam our property. We did a lot of research and chose the best product for us. Thank you so much for a great product! Chris, Robert and of course...Gino!

Best system I’ve ever used !! I have used a competitor for at least 20 years and multiple dogs on a wired system. Recently tried that competitors gps system and ran into all kind of issues. Poor gps signal, poor lte service, just not reliable. Tried SpotOn and will never use anything else !! My land is heavily wooded and the service is extremely acccurate and dependable ! I have 2 labs already on it and we also have a 6 month old lab, just waiting on his neck to get big enough for the collar. Best product ever !!

I purchased a Spot On collar for our golden retriever. We have several unfenced acres for him to run on, but he liked to visit neighbors without permission and to chase wildlife off our property. We followed the training videos and he caught on fairly quickly although we doubled the number of the minimum suggested sessions. We did have to use the static contact points for him to get the point but it did not take long and we did not need to go above level 5. We taught him that when he received a shock, that he was to run home and get a nice treat. He is now allowed to run the property off-leash, he stays on the property, and has not visited the neighbors alone since training. We still keep him under visual contact and will for a couple more months. This was money well spent.

The collar is WONDERFUL. I have a rambunctious, 1y/o Aussie and the collar gets his attention and keeps him safe. Set up was easy, the map is clear and very crisp. I wasted my money on that other collar that starts with an H….don’t go that way. SpotOn is well worth the extra investment…IT WORKS!!
STEPHEN W.
Great product. Very easy to set up and create a perimeter for your dog. Easy to use software. Being able to monitor your dogs whereabouts through the app is a big relief and allows you to find your dog quickly anywhere on your property.

So far works great!

We've had Spot On for about a month. Live on a four acre property with a 10# Lab/Golden Retriever mix. Problem was that she could only be let out with a tether (50'). Looked like a fence was in our future. Then opted to take a chance on Spot On. Only took one training session and she was good to go. She is free to chase the deer, or whatever, away from our small orchard without leaving the property. She's established her own boundary about 15' from the collar's first notification. Has not once been corrected (have at a '4' level for training) since the first day. She's excited to get the collar in the morning before breakfast.
Marsha
We've had some success with these collars. The recent temptation of rabbits outside the fence boundary has meant that our dog are now busting the permitter and recently one of our dogs was found miles away. We have some heavily wooded parts that might be how the dogs are escaping or perhaps they're simply ignoring the static correction. A really helpful feature would be to have the collar record its location periodically for viewing later (not real-time) so we could determine exactly where the problem is.
Theresia R.
We have had 3 collars since April and each collar has had to be replaced several times!!! There are always issues with the satellite and connection. We were happy in the beginning but after the 90 days we seem to call at least 1x a week and have issues. One rep will say yes it’s poor satellite coverage in your area (oddly usually only 1 of the 3 collars we have will have poor coverage )
and another rep will say this only happens to us…. Would not recommend these collars!!! The only plus is that the customer service reps are very nice and do try to help troubleshoot. Just frustrated with the issues and the cost !!!
Kathryn G.
We had a wired perimeter system before Spoton, so our dogs were already trained to know their boundaries. We set up the Spoton wireless fence in the same location as the previous one and after 1 pass around the 6 acre perimeter, they were "trained"! It couldn't have been easier and we couldn't be happier. We can now rest easy knowing that our new "fence" won't be compromised by tree roots, lighting strikes or armadillos. It was WELL WORTH the money!!!
Staar T.
This fencing system has been a complete game changer and worth every penny. This fence has worked out perfectly for us and the dogs. We followed the training video and the cow dog took to it right away. He turned back at the first sound. The bigger dog still tries to test it once in a while, but she never goes past the designated fence. I sincerely love the fence. Is it possible to have a collar with a buckle instead of the clip? Older folks, aka me, have arthritis in their hands and find the clip extremely difficult to remove. The collar and fence is truly wonderful.
Jolene B.
So far it works so much better than her previous collar that starts with an "H" and ends in "alo." The GPS fence works so well and I love the safety zone inside the fence. The previous collar would occasionally give emergency feedback inside our house, so we would have to remove it when she was inside. The only drawback is the cellular tracking subscription. We tried it but have almost no cellular signal in our area (Pocono mountains). We tried it for a couple days and knew it wouldn't work for us. However, since the fence itself works so well, we have found we don't need to track her. If you are reading this and are on the fence, so to speak, or trying to decide between these top two brands, I will tell you from our experience to go with the spot on. We still have one more of the other named brand collar, so we are still doing a literal side by side comparison with our corgis. The spot on has been consistent in keeping her contained whereas the other brand hasn't been able to keep up gps signal wise (a constant issue), letting that pup escape. I love love love the forest mode since we are in the mountain. 13/10 stars, highly recommend spot on!

I have been using SpotOn Fence for approximately a month. My wife and I love it. We live on 40 acres with overhanging trees. Our concern was not the property line but the road. Our house sits back 150 feet. Curiosity of what is down there killed the cat. We didn't want the same for our dog. Received collar, set the fence with the app. We fine-tuned the fence to allow the dog to view the road but not go on it. The customer support was excellent. The unit is pricey but worth it. The coverage is good. Adjusting the fence is simple.
Michael B.
As explained the fence not fixed. It moves according to the satellites. You must consider this.
Disturbance occurs with any metal building or roof and house which are close to your home.
The ‘home’ is not overwriting the fence. If your home is to close to neighbor your dog can’t use this area. Make the under different weather conditions and also day and night.
Good is you can create fences for any location under the sky. Don’t forget to test it.
My dog learned quickly to respect the boundaries, but still get sometimes a warning or if he to fast a lightning reminder. So, he is avoiding specific areas in total. With the support from my neighbors I could expand the fence into their property where possible. We have no physical fences between our neighbors.
Ellen Y.
We have been looking for a solution that would allow us to take our bullterrier mix outside off-leash. Our wired invisible fence was ineffective because our squirrel chasing machine would blow through the boundary before she could be corrected. SpotOn is just what we needed. Set up was easy and training was quick. We have a little over an acre and about half is wooded. The boundary is enforced consistently, even under tree cover. We are very pleased with our purchase.
Clare M.
I needed to keep my dog out of my neighbors yard and away from the street. I was very nervous he would run and get hit by a car. I was quoted $21,000 to install a fence in our backyard and was very stressed about how I was going to make this work. My sister told me that SpotOn worked amazingly well for her large lab, so we purchased the small collar for my mini poodle. Within a day, he understood the system and was staying within the boundaries of our fence. He doesn’t leave the yard even when tempted by other dogs and people walking by. I saved $20,000, don’t have to look at an ugly fence, and have gained complete peace of mind. Thank you!!!!!
Stephan H.
Great product. We started early at 5 months and our lab got it quite easily. It takes some training but we were surprised at how quickly it happened. Also really appreciate talking to a real person here in the US, super helpful team. Thank you!
Matthew R.
We live on an odd shaped 26 acre property, with several neighbours close by. We struggled to keep our Collie Merema cross home; half the neighbours would pet and play with her, and the other half would call the county bylaw officers! We tried a few different methods to keep her home, and hated the idea of having her tied up all the time. After researching quite a bit, we found Spot On systems, and it works like a dream! One of my favourite features is the fact that the face is directional, meaning she can return home without being triggered if she does cross the line!
My advice is to be sure you do the initial boundary training to ensure success. Highly recommend!
Justin W.
This GPS collar is an anxiety saver for the dog and the owners! We took in our 6 y/o hunting lab from a family who had to move. Prior to bringing her home, I replicated the same kennel system with access to my heated shop as the previous owners had. She would bark all day and not a situation I felt good about. We started to research collars and loved everything about Spot-On so we took a chance. We also did not want to be held ‘hostage’ by the competitor with a monthly subscription. It took one day of training and she only crossed the barrier one time chasing a squirrel. She now has full access to our 3 acre property and is one very happy dog. We seriously couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
Donna C.
We did a lot of research on collars. SpotOn had great reviews. After about 8 months, we had a collar battery that stopped charging. I called warranty and they sent me a brand new replacement collar and a return label to ship the bad one back. We love our SpotOn for our border collies on the ranch!!!
Mike K.
SpotOn works good the only problem I am having is in the very back of my property it seems that the satellite moves. Some days she will be up to the fence and other days she stays back ten to fifteen feet and some times she still runs through it. She is only four months old she seems to be learning we’re the boundaries are. Still needs more training I am working with her
Amanda P.
We have 3 spot on collars for our larger dogs to roam 30+ acres. The collars work great and if you have any issues SpotOn customer service is quick to respond and help you! Thank you for helping to be unleashed!
Rhea L.
I love it, and the tracking is awesome!
Rett K.
We love our Spot On collar. Our dog accepted it immediately. It allows us the flexibility to instantly create a fence when we travel. At our lake house, we are able to extend the fence into the water so that she can swim anytime she wants.
Just as importantly, when an issue came up with the collar, the warranty department responded extremely quickly. They stayed in touch throughout the process and returned the collar quickly.
Would definitely recommend this product and company.
John F.
Buyer beware. We purchased 2 collars. One of them is defective and customer service does nothing to help after multiple calls and complaints. One collar works and connects without issues. So it’s obviously an issue with the 2nd collar. It would be nice if they would replace it. But they keep trying to say it’s our issue. Not sure how that can be our issue when the one collar works without issues.
tim s.
collar works great with a GSP. Collar cell connection is not very good. App displays that the cell connection is "Good" but then the next minute says that the collar or cell phone connection is bad. Live only 3 miles from a tower, but collar says that the collar can't be connected to, because of a poor cell connection. Phone connection is always good.
Suzanne G.
This collar is WONDERFUL! We have 11 acres that we have been needing a fence for our bluetick. She took to it within an hour!!! We started with smaller fences and have progressively given her more space as she learned her boundaries. The one downside is battery life. It does not get 25 hrs more like 20-22hrs. I wish there was a second battery we could buy to always have one ready to go. A second collar is the same price as the first so not sure that is our best option.
Joe F.
Such a great product! We have lots of acres out here,, not many fences,, Spot On has changed everything! Nala and Jerry can be located instantly,, and the simple audio alarm turns them right around,, easily the best money Ive ever spent,, 1000% recommend
Michael
The GPS fence works fine but it fragile in close neighborhoods, metal buildings and metal roofing. They can reflect the GPS signals and not matching up with the map. It is crucial to walk the fence multiple times and adjust. Speak with your neighbors to move the fence beyond the borderline.
Anthony R.
I want to emphasize that the people at the company are nice and customer service is fantastic. I know - I've spent a lot of time with them. The short version of the story is that the collar is junk. Mine has been replaced twice now, once even outside of warranty (I told you they were nice). Now the newest collar won't charge anymore. I'm so, so tired of this. My dog has never learned to use it because it doesn't work consistently, and it was basically an expensive tracker. But the quality control is clearly a problem and I wish I had never bought it in the first place. What a bummer.
Paul K.
The collar only stays changed for a day that’s the only down fall so far
Rick D.
My wife says to me all the time "This is the best thing that you have ever bought"
We had other cheaper collars, but nothing compares to this.
We love the feature to save fences for different location, so when we go to family and friend’s places, we just change the saved fence, and our pups are safe to wonder around.
Donald W.
We love the spot on collar so does our Nora as she has free roam of are yard to run and run and gives us a peace of mind knowing she is safe. Spot on’s app is very easy to use and navigate.
Thanks
DW

This definitely did not work with our Black Russian Terrier. He stays in the yard most of the time, as he did before the collar, but even on the highest setting he will walk right through the fence.
jeff p.
Down side is system is very expensive, especially since I have two dogs and had to buy two systems. The sensitivity of the perimeter varies depending where the dogs are in the yard. I ended up making the perimeter larger because they were receiving corrections well inside the zone. Luckily we have a large yard in the country so wasn't a huge deal.
Upside is that it's super easy to setup. I also like that I can setup different zones at other homes or areas. Collars seem to hold a good charge and are sturdy. Only had the systems about a month so we'll see how they hold up.
Jessica B.
Love this collar! Works great….. until the collar is slipped. One thing I wish they would “add” is a better way to find the collar if it’s lost in the fence. Other than that I love it! And I found it so in the end just a LOT of leg work!
Wade W.
Forget the awesome collar... THE CUSTOMER SERVICE is the star of the show! We have been a Spoton customer since their Gen 1 collar. We have had every version of collar while they worked out issues with previous models. They have taken customer feedback and issues and continue to improve their product to be the easiest and best Geofence option on the market. All of this while making it more affordable. Anytime we have an issue we call in, get connected with a knowledgeable representative within minutes and they ALWAYS fix our issue. The product is great and if you're looking for a satellite containment collar this is by far the best option; but if you're on the fence ;P at all about which one to buy just know that the Spoton team has been the best customer service I have ever received. If you buy their collar they WILL take care of you.
Ross K.
The collar is great and does exactly as I expected. The only problem is the dog loves to chew it to pieces.
We have had three collars and she has destroyed two of them.
Spot on customer service is SPOT ON!!!! They are the best and very helpful above and beyond.
Teresa H.
We purchased a SpotOn Fence system in April 2024 for our Saint Bernard (Looey) and have nothing but good things to say about this collar. We live on a little over 5 acres and Looey is free to roam every nook and cranny! EXCEPT for the no-go zones we set up (this is a fantastic feature). Looey is not quite a year old so very playful, but quite large. He was enjoying tug o war with the rope swing a little too frequently, but thankfully we can set this as a no-go zone to avoid total destruction! We also take Looey to my parents farm and have a GPS fence saved to the collar for those trips. All I have to do is switch to the alternative fence in the app. I have recommended this collar to several people. The price seems high at first, until you realize it’s full capability.

Carl was a stray I found starving and dehydrated. Not wanting that to happen to him again or be hit by a vehicle, I needed to do something to keep him home. Fencing my yard which is over an acre was cost prohibitive for me and I felt one of those underground wires might be expensive as well, just not as much. Then I learned of the GPS system SpotOn and a few others use. I liked that idea because soon I will expand Carl's territory to use the full 9 acres of my property and this type of system will allow that quite easily with no additional cost. I chose Spot On for 3 reasons. First, there is no subscription for basic service which is all I need. And I noted one of these systems had almost doubled their basic subscription within the past few months. What is to stop them from doing that again? The other systems were much cheaper but, even if there are no more increases, within 3 years the fees would bring the cost up to what I paid for SpotOn and the fees will continue making theirs more expensive. Second, with SpotOn I can have an unlimited number of fences which is good for my irregularly shaped property. Third, while SpotOn was more expensive, it is Made In America which is important to me.
As to how it works, Carl was easy to train. Once he heard that first warning sound, he wanted no part of it again so stays in bounds. But this morning the dogs across the street were barking and Carl crossed the "fence" and into the street so I will have to set up the static which is easy and adjustable. If that hits him, I doubt if he'll cross again.
The only issue I have is I believe there should be more overlap on the 3 sizes. I measured his neck wrong and bought a large collar when I should have bought a medium and the collar is loose but the static feature does work. If there was more overlap in sizes, I would have bought the medium.
Kayla B.
Digging it so far! We wanted to give our pup the space that he needed to roam and keep him away from the road. This collar does exactly that, and for significantly cheaper than we would be able to build a physical fence of the size. Making changes to the fence as needed is pretty quick and easy. Living in a rural area poses its challenges with real-time tracking, but it updates from time to time as signal improves, so I get a general idea. No matter the signal strength however, I get a notification and real-time tracking if he breaks the boundary, so that is the most important to me. One thing that I cannot emphasize enough is the excellent customer service. Jay helped me with an exchange when our not so little guy outgrew his collar. Very professional, nice, and quick with the solution. Overall, it does what I wanted it to do which is keep our dog safe, and our dog is happy to have his freedom.
Mallory J.
Our dog loves to hunt our property. He somehow was chasing after something and got his collar off. We weren’t able to locate the collar and they sent us another one for free! Our strong willed pup is our baby and my kids best friend. We were worried he’d wander off hunting something and were able to get the new collar shipped over night with the help of Jay. Amazing company with amazing employees! So beyond thankful

Better than Halo by far! I started with Halo collars but Halo does not work to set fences as you walk, their fence set up process is just broken and Halo seems to be all marketing with low quality results. The I moved to SpotOn and I’m SO IMPRESSED!!! The app is easier to use, setting up a fence is easy as you walk or start from a default. The SpotOn collar is more accurate and holds battery life more than double Halo. We use this collar for our livestock dog on our ranch. So impressed and highly recommend SpotOn.
Carla F.
This is Hank and the collar has been a god send. He has had a parasite from drinking out of mud puddles, eve troughs etc. Spot On collar is wonderful because I set no enter zones and now he is on the end because I eliminated the trouble areas for him with the collar.
William A.
Not my first brand of gps collar but my favorite! Easy to set up fences. Works great on my heavily wooded 26 acres. Allows my blue heeler to go everywhere on my property with me. If I need to keep her close to the house while I'm cutting trees, I can switch to a smaller fence in seconds. Really recommend this collar!
John F.
We purchased 2 collars. One works great! The other barely connects. We’ve called customer service a couple times. No help. They just blame out phones or signal strength. Which we know it can’t be because the other collar connects and tracks without issue. Very frustrating that they can’t stand behind the second collar and see that it’s defective.
Caitlynn B.
If you’re someone who has several acres of land and underground fence isn’t an option for you because of the cost being several thousand dollars, I 100% recommend SpotOn collars!
About a week ago, we decided to bring Roxie home to live with us and knew we needed something. Our other dogs have lived here their entire life, so they know their boundaries, but with Roxie not being a spring chicken we knew we needed something to keep her safe and also that allowed her to roam the entire property. After a lot of research, I found SpotOn and I’m so happy I did. It allows us to set boundaries on our phones, know where she is at all times, and allows her to access our entire property if we wanted. These collars work for anywhere from 1/2 acre to 100,000 acres and the best part for Roxie, they’re waterproof!
Here’s to a happy dog that now gets to go swimming whenever she wants.

Dog didn’t respond at all to the vibration. It led to a lot of frustration with the training process. Once we added the stim correction she picked it up in no time. The collar works well 95% of the time. Occasionally it won’t buzz her if she’s moving at high speeds. I wish the satellite shifts were less significant. It would make it much easier for our dog to know landmarks where the shocks take place rather than function solely off the cue. Places she’s been able to go before are suddenly out of bounds and can take her by surprise. For reference our lab is 1, 60 lbs and on a 15 setting. I think this is too high but unfortunately we get the most consistent response so she doesn’t “take the hit” just to get out. I figure an intense shock hurts less than a car coming down the road. As she gets more used to it and older I’ll turn it down lower and lower. Overall I feel like I have my puppy back. When she was little she would follow me around and be off leash and we’d play and have a great time. Then come the teenage years and she would just screw off down the neighborhood. Now that she is some what limited, she engages with me more and we walk up and down our 5 acres together playing fetch and tug and other games. I have peace of mind that the tracking turns on automatically. The one other gripe is that the whistle doesn’t work effectively. I’d love to train a 100% recall from the whistle but it almost never pings the collar.
Paul C.
After some trial and error we finally got it right I think. When the instructions say a finger distance between the collar and dog it means it. Using the shorter probes I loosened it to a couple fingers and ended up chasing our Lucy a mile down the beach. Do the training and the rest will happen.
Crystal
Shocks my dog inside my house even after contacting customer service.

Collar is working great. We have a 9 month old pup and she took to it right away. She only had a couple breaches at first , but none for weeks. I usually take the collar off in the morning and put it back on at night. I believe she would be on at night, but I sleep sound knowing she can move about and I can sleep well. I needed to call customer service for a couple glitches. They were wonderful. Glad we purchased the collar.

I bought the Spot On collar three months ago for my 1 year old female border collie, Skye. Our house is on a 3 acre lot with about 300 feet of frontage on a lake. Since we got Skye at 10 weeks old I would put her on a leash every time she went outside. If I was going to to give her some freedom, I would have to put in some type of fence to keep her from running off. After much online research, I decided to give Spot On a try. I set up the fence by walking the collar around an area of about 2 acres which included the shoreline. Since Skye loves to swim, I used the app to move the virtual fence posts about 30 feet out into the water. When I tried to download the edited fence to the collar it wouldn’t download. I called the helpline and after several attempts the representative said he would contact their programmer and get back to me. The next day I was contacted and after a fix of the software it worked fine. I used their recommendation of employing the vibration and a setting of 5 for the static shock and tested it on myself to make sure that it wasn’t too harsh. I could barely feel the shock. It took only one lesson for Skye to learn the meaning of the warning signals. I hadn’t tested her response to really strong temptation, but a couple days later a neighbor walked by with a dog on leash and, although Skye desperately wanted to get to them, she remained on her side of the fence. I’ve recommended this collar to friends, one of whom is now trying it with her dog. The only criticism that I have is that the electronics on the collar are quite bulky. If it were more compact and lighter, I would probably subscribe to the tracking function. For the time being I use the Fi collar for tracking when I take Skye on off leash walks and hikes in the woods.

I recently found a stray that I could not leave to the streets and do not want to take to the pound where he would be killed because there are too many abandoned dogs & cats. I can't do that. Since we took responsibility adopted Carl, we knew we didn't want him getting in the street or to the neighbor's where there is an aggressive dog behind their electronic fence protecting his property. I needed something quick, affordable and I also needed something flexible deciding a GPS system was the best for my 2acre irregular shaped property. I also want to expand his territory to the full 9 acres in the near future. I looked at another system that was less expensive but required a monthly subscription, limited the "fences" to 5 for the basic subscription and was made in Taiwan. Made in the USA is important to me. It took a bit to get the perimeter set up but once done, training was a breeze. I know Carl is probably unique but once the first tone sounded and I pulled him away, he didn't want to go near it again so I never used the static feature. It is a pleasure to let Carl out, see him run free and not worry about him getting out. While initially a bit expensive it is still pretty cheap considering the alternatives and to me this SpotOn collar is worth the money.

SpotOn provides us with a sense of security for our Sadie. She's a young adult English Coonhound we rescued from the shelter.
We love being able to track her movements and locate her in real time.

Very happy with the collar itself, but have had problems with the collar and charging unit. Both repaired at no cost.

Best collar ever. Works everywhere I brought it. No cell service in Canada and it still worked perfectly. Love it.

So far very well made. Works perfectly

Spot on is Spot On!!! Our 1.5 year old dog that we recently adopted loves living life unleashed! He is afraid of his own shadow and vibration is enough to deter him. As soon as he hears the first warning he turns back to his area. He has 4 fences he primarily uses and we have been working to teach him he is not bound by physical boundaries rather he is bound by the tones and corrections. He was skeptical of crossing physical boundaries at first but he is learning that it's OK. I do advise contacting spot on and going by their guidelines and measuring your yard before placing your order so you know the 'fence' will work how you envision it too. It's not exactly how I wanted some fences set up but I am very content and with a 90 day satisfaction guarantee who can go wrong. You do notice gps drift but the boundaries have been consistent (±10') and alert atleast 98% of the time while walking the boundries. It's so nice to see a puppy, be a puppy, and have the ability to get some energy out to keep him happy. It has me outside more as well and I also enjoy not being restricted by a leash. The subscription is worth the piece of mind for the live tracking and look forward to using the 'call' button when he is trusted to be alone. I can definitely see the light beacon being useful in locating a pet after dark. I do wish there was a correction feature without an alert for discouraging bad behaviors. To fence in our yard would probably be over $40,000 and invisible fence would likely still run over a $1000 not installed. Both of those options do not offer the flexibility and convenience that spot on offers.

Works just like promised. We've had no problems, and was easy to set up even for a computer illiterate. It's wonderful to let the dog run free and know she won't go into the highway or disappear into the fields to chase the deer.

It took my 5 month old Jack Russell one correction to understand the program. He now turns back when he gets the beeps. Actually doesn’t get close enough to get beeps..we have a big yard. He lives it

I love, love my SpotOn dog collars that I purchased for my 2 dogs! I’m not tech savvy and setting it up was extremely easy. When I did have a question I could call and speak with a representative who was patient and friendly. I highly recommend this system!

This collar is easy to use, walks you through teaching your dog to use it, and is very effective. They take care of their customers needs and help in any way they can for their product to work for you.

We recently got 6 inches of rain with lots of Lightning and thunder. I was at work during the storm and when I came home I could not find my dog anywhere. I signed up for the subscription immediately to try to locate my dog. The GPS showed me her location and she washed almost 5 miles away. I still have not figured out how she ended up that far away. I am so thankful that I could find her with the GPS collar.

“So far so good. Took about a week of training for Luna to understand the tones. We’re currently using vibration correction and it appears to be working. I tried the static correction on myself and it seemed a little much compared to other e collar training collars. The only improvement I would suggest is if the walk the perimeter function would initiate the tones instead of the boundary correction.”
I want to change my comment about the static correction. I tried the static correction again and it seems to be good and on par with other e collars. Lowest levels don’t seem harsh at all. Vibration is good for day to day, but our dog luna is pray driven and will sometimes over step the boundaries.

I use to have an in-ground wire fence and hated constantly looking for breaks. I also had a gps collar that I was paying for. This has taken place of both of them. Super accurate. Fast alerts l, especially compared to my last gps collar.

Had the option to either install a 15k fence or buy the SpotOn GPS Fence. Well after doing lots of searches and reviews as well as other products etc. SpotOn was clearly the better of the choices. Both cost and purpose needed. I have had this Collar now for couple months and it has been everything said it would be.. I personally was stressed based on not being able to let my Littleman out of the house when I was gone and also had to use the leash when I was home. Now He and I are Stress free. I go and he stays home with ability to come in and out on his own and does not leave the set property boundaries created with the SpotOn GPS fence App. Its not perfect but its way cheaper than a 15k fence and has offered nothing but confidence and a strong sense of security for me as I really was worried about my pets well being and health having to be restricted to in the house and crate while gone and only able to get out and run on a runner line set up which was totally limited to free running ability he truly has now..
Fence is a GPS connection to satellites and it does have variation of movement from the set boundaries at times like mentioned in the description and this sometimes makes me wonder is crating my dogs hesitation to move as freely as could at the fence lines I set.. Some days I ask Littleman to come to the first line of alert and he absolutely responds as if he is already in the alert area and I know this might be that variation of movement in greater than 10 to 15foot movement. So he has days where he gets confused and gives the why are you doing this to me today look. Sad and yet what can you do when this is a GPS Satellite dependent system. I only have 2 acres and with the corners and the said 15 ft for the 3 levels of alerts it does down size the yards actual size a bit..
Only other issue I have experienced in the neck of my Pets been irritated and created bleeding from the probes used to send the signals to the neck from the collar. 2 sizes to choice from , 1 being longer than other.. I used the shortest based on my dog is a short hair dog.. Well being that the collar is a larger than normal collar it created motive for Littleman to scratch at his collar based on both the training period of being given the sapping affect and also the uncomfortable wearing affect till used to it.. I reported this as possible being able to come up with small probes and Support was very responsive and understanding of my concerns.. Gave great answers ands suggestions remedy the issues.. I did come up with a better and every since my Littleman has not had any irritation to his neck.. I simply removed the probes all together and being he is a smart dog he still remember the 1st and 2nd alerts were before the zapping alert.. Plus remember he is also a short haired dog and the connection points are cooper and still produce a vibration that he is able to sense..
Now battery life is also the only other issue needed to learn this was or is still a leaning curve for me. Although I do now have a habit formed to remove collar and place on charger every night when shutting down for day.. Placing back on him when ready to start new day.. Its just what to do when I and if I decide to want to leave house for weekend say two day period and he has to stay home.. The battery life will most likely die and be uncharged and therefore not working as should and this is something I hope SpotOn is able to address and fix in near future.. Good of this is that the collar itself being on my dog is a reminder and he seems to already know his limits of boundaries and stays with in them alot. Yet what would happen if something outside the boundaries crates him to get overly excited or curious and he challenges this fence boundary when the collar is not charged and dead after the said 21 hours of know time to last. When He is in the house safe zone , which is a great feature offered in set up , the battery is not apparently being drained based on its not connected to the satellite system.
Life is not always easy and this is just another curve ball that may be an issue in the future for us.. So far not so.
Bottom line SpotOn has been a game changer and I and my Littleman are way more stress free and living freer than before we took the leap and bought this collar. Cost was well worth it considering the options I had..
So , thanks SpotOn for you creation of a healthy and cost effective way to allow my Pet to have a life he well deserves and not trapped or cooped up in a small house and not able to get out and run and play and investigate the nature outside the windows of his home..

SpotOn is allowing our GSD/Husky mix to live her best life! We moved from the city where we had a fenced in backyard to the country. The cost of fencing would have been through the roof and in exploring our options, we came across SpotOn. Anyone who has a GSD/Husky mix will understand the challenges with the breed and needing a fence. :-D
6 weeks in and we are all so loving the system. We followed the training that was outlined and our girl knows the boundaries as well as the warning tones. She loves to spend time outside and just meanders around with us or lays on the deck watching everything. She spends so much time outside now that when she is in the house, she passes out asleep which is impressive for a 4yr old dog. LOL
I do have to give a big shout out to Customer Service. We had also purchases a year's subscription which ended up not working for us because we have low cell service. I contacted Customer Service and they walked through the type of cell signal needed as well as looked what Allie's collar was receiving. Through that we realized Tracking was not going work for us so they promptly refunded what we paid for the subscription.

This collar has seriously changed my dog’s life. Honey is a maremma sheepdog farm guardian. Despite our 100+ acres of land, she habitually snuck to neighbors’ houses and into the road. With seemingly no other options, we took a chance on this collar and it has paid off. Honey learned the boundary within a week and now spends her days completely unrestricted and outside. She has never been happier! With spotty cell phone service in the white mountains of NH we could not be happier with the accuracy and dependability of this collar. A big, but extremely worthwhile investment.

This product is perfect for our 1 year old GSD. She can run free on our 9 acres and I don’t have to worry about her. I can always see where she is and the correction keeps her inside the fence without issue! Not to mention the customer service! They are awesome! If I could give it 6 stars I would!

Definitely get the subscription !! Viewing real time and border breach's are amazing to track your buddy from staying off the highway and public roads, excellent Customer service and build quality! USA made.

We just started using this collar. We are not shocking our dog, but the vibration is very effective. Working fantastic .

It was very easy to train our English Setter Annie as I use a training collar when hunting. She responded immediately to the tones. After a couple days of touching the boundaries she now hardly ever gets close to the boundary. I love this collar and have recommended it to our neighbor who has 2 Golden Retrievers.

Audible is very low. Dog can’t hear it or it is not loud enough to deter her. If I have my phone with me and play the sound through that she can hear it and she doesn’t cross. Not sure why there is not an audible control
Amanda C.
Conveniently, the neighbor’s cat crossed the invisible boundary line I created between our properties to contain my border collie to my side. I was curious to see the outcome and allowed this interaction to continue to serve as a training opportunity. Here we can observe my dog’s hesitancy in the chase due to our previous, positive-reward training along the perimeter for days. His quick stop and return was exactly at the proper location as I anticipated.
This Spot On Fence system continues to give me peace of mind!

Excellent customer service! This was easy to set up and works! What more could you ask for? This has been a blessing. The grass in the outside kennel, that we bought as a "back up", needs to the mowed from lack of use. We have used this for for three months. We are very happy with it.

Love this fence! It was fairly easy to set up. Customer service was so wonderful when I needed them. My dogs, Larry and Luna, are so much happier. They’re outside all day long on their own, with no escapes. They learned the boundaries fairly quickly. Running and playing and getting so much exercise, they are exhausted by the end of the day.
Thank you SpotOn Fence. I was a bit apprehensive because of the price, but it is absolutely worth it!

The SpotOn GPS Dog Collar has been a lifesaver for our family! Our 90 lb yellow lab can finally enjoy the outdoors safely, and we can relax knowing he's contained in our yard. It's like having the dog we've always dreamed of! The battery lasts all day, and our easy nightly charging routine makes it a breeze to keep the collar powered up. With a little initial training to establish boundaries, this collar has been a game-changer. We highly recommend the SpotOn GPS Dog Collar!

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Have had 2 collars for 2+ years, they have worked reliably the whole time. One got damaged, called customer service and a new one is being sent. It all took 7 minutes speaking to a very helpful gentleman.

Bought our spot on collar about 4 months ago after our dog got loose; she returned but we knew we had to do something from preventing it from happening again. After some research, SpotOn seemed like the best option. It has been the best investment to keep our pup safe. It’s great to be able to have multiple fences at different houses that can easily be turned on and off. We’ve run into a couple issues with the accessories (charging dock and prongs), but after a quick call to customer service, all issues were resolved without a headache. They have the absolute best and easiest customer service I think I’ve ever dealt with. If you’re in need of something to keep your pup safe while also giving them the freedom of playing and running around, this is your best option!

Would have been an awesome fence but you need at least .25 acres (10,000 sq ft) yard or area. I have a yard half that size and it doesn’t adjust for smaller yards. Can’t really rate it
Mark D.
In short, the Spot On collar saved us thousands of dollars. We have about 3 acres with lots of snakes and gopher holes. Our boxer puppy, Tyson (2 years old) had a compound fracture from galloping across the yard his foot getting stuck in a hole. Few thousand dollars there. Then he got bit by a snake. More hundreds. Building a fence was going to be about 20k. Then we discovered Spot On and are now able to limit where he roams, thus keeping him out of the dangerous areas and keeping him safely close to home as he tended to roam pretty far. If I could give this 6 stars I would. Lastly, the customer service is top notch. These guys are super friendly and willing to help. I know it's a little pricey but so are vet bills and fences.
P.S. Get the optional cell phone subscription for 10 bucks a month. You don't have to have it but I love being able to monitor him from my office. It's worth it.

SpotOn has worked wonderfully for our Doberman. It is nice to let him roam the property without worry.

Excellent product and people to support you. We're very happy with our Spot On collar. We live in the California Sierra, in a very forested area, and this collar allows us to keep track of our mischievous 5 month old golden retriever. The supplemental smaller collar replacement allowed us to start using this device when he was only 4 months old.
Dan S.
Half the time the collars do not work. My dogs just walk right through the fence area. Other times it will make the noise but not shock them. Some times it will work properly.
Deanna M.
This collar for my australian Shephard has been amazing! Living in the country cars fly down our road. I no longer worry about her getting hit AND she can freely roam our 5 acres. Addie loves her collar, she comes to the counter every morning where it is charging and sits for me to put it on her. The only concern I have is the collar is pretty new and it is already showing wear, I'm afraid the battery will be exposed soon. I hope not, but it is looking like it.
Joe G.
Love these collars! I purchased two for my rambunctious German Shepherds. Spot on has changed my life and theirs! I couldn’t let them out of their kennel before because they just took off. Now, thanks to how well the Spot on collar works my dogs have about a 10 acre area to roam free. They learned quickly and now are enjoying a dogs life! Great product!

Easy to set up and effective on my 6 month old Black Mouth Cur.

It seems to be a work in progress. Even tho the app says the signal and battery are both good, it many times comes back saying it can’t find the dog. She is a one year old foxhound, bred to run fast - therefore training her has been difficult. We will keep working on it.
