Using Bluetooth with SpotOn

When using your SpotOn Virtual Fence, you can utilize
Bluetooth functionality in two ways.

Through the App

Enable Bluetooth to train your pup
and set the static correction level.

Collar to Collar

Enable Bluetooth on the collar to share
maps between two systems.

Connecting to the Collar from Your Phone

Watch this video or follow these steps to connect to Bluetooth.

Be sure to deactivate any active maps before beginning the below steps.

1.   Ensure Bluetooth and Location Services are enabled on your smartphone.

2. Power on your SpotOn collar (exit out of any notifications received when powering up the collar).

3. Make sure the "BT" symbol in the upper left-hand corner of the collar's screen is white.

4. In the app, select the Bluetooth button in the upper left-hand corner of the home screen (blue circle with white “B”).

5. Select “SO-SPOTON” (or “SO-[your dog’s name]" if Tracking is activated) from the device list.

6. You will be returned to the app’s home screen and Bluetooth will be active.

Test it Out

The Collar
Ensure connectivity on the collar by noting the “BT” on the display has changed from white to blue.

The Tones
Select “Training” from the app’s home screen. The icons should now be displayed in color (they are grey when disconnected). Select the left yellow icon to sound the alert tone. Select the right orange icon to sound the warning tone.

Static Correction
Adjust the static correction level and test it by placing the static correction tester firmly on the contact points; select the red bottom icon to initiate static correction and the test will light up.

Note: If you're not using Bluetooth for a few minutes it will time out and automatically disconnect.

Also remember that you can not track your pup through your Bluetooth connection. For tracking you'll need cellular. To understand more about the difference between Bluetooth and cellular, watch this quick video.

Connecting Collar to Collar

You can also share maps between collars, either using the app (once connectivity has been activated) or through the collars’ Bluetooth function. Here’s how to do it from collar to collar without the app:

  1.  Make sure your map is deactivated on both collars
  2. On the collars' home screens, select SYSTEM
  3. Select SHARE MAP
  4. Select SEND on the collar whose map you would like to share, and RECEIVE on the other collar
  5. The collars will connect and the BT in the upper left-hand corner of the screen will turn blue
  6. Select the map you would like to share
