Him staying in his boundaries works great. The tracking option is hit and miss
Doug
Five months old Golden Retriever after three days of training Eva three times a day has learned her boundaries and understand she has three acres to roam
Zane C.
The collar won't stay connected to satellite and images it has to do with location. But I will be sending it back because it socks and rings my dog inside the set area.

We are living our Spoton collar & so is our dog!

Purchasing the SpotOn system has helped us give our dogs the best outside life ever. We find them running, playing chase and exploring over our 4 acre fence area.
Brant M.
Had it almost a month now and he has not left the fence. Only took couple days for him to learn his area. Having 23 acres it was a great investment

I’ve been using Spot On collars for about a year now. After doing a lot of research, I decided to try these collars for our two Sheppard/Malinois mix who roam our 40 acre property daily. We have a cattle fence, but the dogs can easily get through it in pursuit of a rabbit or coyote! After training with these collars, breaches of the perimeter have been eliminated, and I can easily locate them when needed. I had an early version of the collars which did have some teething issues. The charger pins were temperamental, and the early style battery packs became loose with use. I am very happy to say that both issues were resolved quickly and under warranty by very helpful and friendly customer service representatives! Yes, these collars are expensive, but they have performed extremely well, and served their intended purpose in protecting our beloved pups.

This system is a game changer!
I was at my wits end trying to contain my great Pyrenees, I walked him around the boundary over and over, exercised positive reinforcement but still wasn't getting the results I needed. After adding the Spot on collar and some gentle training, my dog was finally staying where he was supposed to!
We had one escape with coyotes but trimmed my dogs hair and tightened the collar and increased the shock intensity from 1 to 15 and haven't had any escapes
Finally I don't have to worry about my dogs whereabouts it also eliminates confusion in my dog because he now knows the boundary and respects it,
we are both a lot happier now
I would recommend this product

I love Spot on! It is very accurate and keeps my dog in the fence! Only negative is after leaving the fence the collar stops correcting and just tracks. My dog is a bit stubborn so I keep a separate collar on him so I can continue vibration until he returns. I highly recommend!!
Ellen
It works great, but there is an issue with the prongs and buckles falling off. This needs to be addressed in the design end, as I've had to go looking for this very expensive collar in the bush on my 80 acres. Luckily so far I've found it, but i will be very angry if it falls off and I can't find it.

Blown away by the performance of this collar! If you’re on the “fence” if you should choose Spoton over Halo, do yourself a favor and go with the best. Super easy to set up and train your dog to understand. Still can’t believe our 10 month GSP doesn’t cross the boundary to chase wildlife.
Peg R.
Our SpotOn Fence is working perfectly! It took a while to get the correct collar fit- but after that all went smoothly. All the SpotOn reps are patient and helpful- Thank you!

Over one month and no escapes. Our working line 2 year old GSD was completely ignoring the competitor's collar and escaping regularly. We love that she can safely wear the Spoton in the house as well as in her 6 acre yard. So far, the collar has been perfect. When she chases a deer, she feels the vibration exiting her yard and abandons the chase, so the static correction never occurs. GPS drift almost zero compared to the competitor's collar.

The collar gets the job done. However, the battery DOES NOT last 24hrs. I have a livestock guardian dog and I need it to last for 24hrs. It’s lasting for about 16-18hrs. I’m not leaving it on track or anything. It’s also hard to make keep out zones on the map.
Beth M.
I like the tracking aspect of the system. Often, the colllar is charging and I get an alert it has left the fenced area & it’s in the console charging,
Rhonda K.
It seems to be working very well for me. My dog has made the adjustment from an invisible fence to the GOS collar. I made several adjustments to the roaming area. Overall, I am very pleased with Spot On.
Benjamin S.
Spot on works as shown keeps her in the fence. Could improve on clips that snaps the collar together already broken 3 times plastic back piece to weak.
Keith M.
We bought his collar for our English Cocker spaniel and couldn't be happier. She is the family baby but also an avid outdoor loving hunting dog. This has given us the freedom to hunt with her more freely with less concern and keeps her safe at home also. So far the collar has withstood the abuse of a hunting dogs life and given us more comfort at home.
Stephanie L.
I ordered two of the collars for my dogs. They work ok, doing the job I would expect them to do. Sometimes it will alert me of one of my dogs being outside the fence while they are well within the set parameter. The biggest issue I have with the collars is that the prongs come loose while on my dogs and I lose them, then can’t get a response from customer service to get the prongs replaced.
Heath M.
German shorthair pointer is more of a challenge with system. Max shock is not intense enough to be 100% deterrent. Also shocking stops after 9-10 seconds so a determined dog can out last shock and enjoy their day outside the boundary. I’d like to see more intense shock and for longer.
Heath M.
Collar with long probes works great on male yellow lab. Gets to see all the farm now.
Jay B.
We have a yellow lab that is 2 years old! We got him this collar because he would travel a mile away from our house through the back fields! We trained him on this collar in 30 minutes and he never challenged the area We set up for him. We also bought the subscription incase he does leave so we can follow him on the GPS. The customer service for this product is unreal. We had 1 small issue with the collar and the sent a shipping label immediately all paid for and repair the collar better then it ever was and sent it back. I never received better customer support from any other company. This is by far one of my favorite products. Easy to use and works like advertised and customer support to help you along the way of needed! Thank you spot on!
Len G.
We live in Canada, but product still arrived within a couple of days. I am not a techie person, and yetl everything was very easy to set up. Fence was paced off and set up and running within 20 mins. Our dog came from a property with a wired dog fence, so is familiar with the sound prompts. A few days of training on the new propertyand she has been perfect! Collar is larger than I expected (our dog is 20lbs) but she is not having a problem with it
Tony R.
Great coverage, great feedback, great features; terrible durability. My very active GSP has broken 2 of these collars within the first year of ownership. If someone develops a kevlar wrap (seemingly simple concept) I'd come back to SpotOn, for now... I'll stick with Halo because I refuse to pay $500 for a refurbished replacement collar that's replacing a replacement collar. Material just doesn't hold up for active pups.
Robyn
This is the second color we’ve bought (for our newest dog) and we love them so much! Gives us peace of mind that our dogs are close to home and safe. They also work so good! One of our dogs has a very high chase/prey drive. The collar stopped her exactly on our property line while she was chasing a fox!
Hayden N.
Not worth the money.
The battery life is less than 16 hours although we had it as short at 14 hours. We tried it out by just leaving it on the porch, no dog attached. It didn't make it through a typical day for our pup.
We walked the boundary line a few times, but there were certain points that never picked up the signal. We were able to walk the collar well past the line without a beep or buzz. We gave it several tries.
it was a big let down for the price.
When I emailed customer service to return, there was no effort to fix the issue. In addition, there is a $11.50 fee for shipping it back- a product that doesn't do what is advertised!
When we were purchasing, we wondered how many of these reviews were paid. I assume a lot now that we've tried it.
Save your shipping money. This technology is going to be way better in the near future for a fraction of the cost.
Matt F.
Was hoping product would hold up to all it was hyped up to be, however it did not. The product after using, to me, seems like it has potential but is in more of a infancy phase and should have had all the kinks worked out before going to the public. The battery on the collar did not even last a day, app had potential but was sluggish and the tracking didn’t work right and would get stuck on constantly and drain the collar battery even faster. As is the collar and app just didn’t work for our real world needs. Wish they would work it all out because the idea is a great one, but the product just isn’t there yet.
Isabelle
Product is perfect for its purpose i wish i had a recall feature

We now live in a rural community on 18 acres and loving it I might add. Howdy is our first country dog and loves exploring. He also loves our neighbor that lives across the street. My concern of course is that he would wander off or get hit by a car when visiting our neighbor. We decided to purchase Spot On as we had a big area to cover. I was a little concerned that the tech involved in setting it up would be beyond me or my husband, however I found it very easy or ‘idiot proof’ as I like to say. So far we are extremely pleased with the results. He did break through once but that was during his training and on a low setting. I adjusted it up (still on the vibration setting) and have had no problems since. The only issue I have is with myself…I have forgotten to take off the collar at night to charge it a few times. So, I give a big thumbs up and a thank you to Spot On.
Deryl S.
One dog has had multiple times she is well within the fence and the collar vibrates and buzzes like she is outside of the fence. Returning this collar and not replacing it.
Jeff B.
Well, it happened. The gps drift allowed my dog to go beyond the safety line along the garage, and my dog was able to go in the front yard. Fortunately the front border stopped him from going to the road.
If I move the line closer in, then it activates in his kennel area.
There are a few points that I discovered that aren't in the marketing. In the package literature, it tells you that about 70% of dogs require the zap.
Other things I've learned from my experiences and customer service responses: The feedback on your phone is only for training, not monitoring. The range is 25', then you've lost the feedback. You need the subscription to "track...monitor" where your dog is.
You can't connect the phone to the collar outside of 25'. Not good if the dog takes off before you activate the fence.
My collar has lost connection with satellites, 0 satellites, and I had to turn off/on the collar to get connected. Customer service told me to wiggle the collar to activate it. I haven't tried that yet.
Overall, the marketing is spot on, but the collar has its downfalls not told, that only experience teaches.
Customer service is responsive and helpful. They send me a collar piece for my pup that was between a L and S. Works great!
I can't say I wouldn't buy it again; I'm just frustrated with hyped marketing and learning reality after buying.
It works, but I'd feel better paying less for it.
Matt G.
There is a significant delay in the data showing where my dog is vs. where the app shows him. This does not work for us at all as knowing his location is critical to his job as a livestock guardian dog. We would like to return the collar.
Edward R.
The GPS tracking feature is great, but some of the other features are lacking. The warning sound on the collar is so quiet my dog can't hear it, and it only lasts for 1 second before he gets buzzed. Since the boundary moves 15 feet at any moment due to limits with satellite communication, it really needs to be bigger so he has time to stop and turn around before getting buzzed and finding himself outside the perimeter. So it is worthless as far as trying to keep him contained, but at least I know where he is going and can retrieve him now.
Johanna E.
Spot On is Amazing! It has made such a difference in bot my and my dogs lives. Thank you. Brilliant Technology!
David H.
Its ok so far, couple of things
I don't know whether it's on or off
the charging station it doesn't tell me if it's charging or not charging
The noise that it emits when the dog is at the border isn't very loud probably plenty loud enough for the dog but I can't hear it
Kelli P.
Collar is unreliable. Does not always detect the fence. Dog can escape for 10 min+ before there is a notification. Tracking only finds dog about 30% of the time. Battery life is 12-14 hrs, not 22 hrs as advertised.
Kelly D.
I rarely write reviews but this product is life changing. Everything worked as advertised beautifully. It took just 2 weeks to train my pup. During that time no outside time without on leash. We walked the perimeter a couple times a day so she understood. I have the correction set at level one and she has need to be corrected only 2 times. As soon as she hears the tone, she turns her right around. I can now let her in and out whenever she wants and not worry. All this, and made in the USA. Also, due to my own fault, I lost two of the prongs the first week and I contacted the company and they sent them right out to me at no cost great customer service!
Kelly T.
Worked with my dog for several months with average results. At times it takes the collar too long to sound and as a result he is through the zone. I have set the correction as high as 15 to which he just sits, scratches and continues along his way. Also the Bluetooth connection is really weak. Need to be within 10 feet to stay connected to your phone.
Jessica C.
SpotOn is hands down AMAZING!! There are several factors that sold me on SpotOn and actually WORK well. First is we live on a heavily wooded lot, however, there are no issues.
Secondly, I did not want a circular boundary area around a single point. I love the fact SpotOn allows you to draw your own boundary, which again WORKS very well. Thirdly, I love the fact you can create multiple fences to use on the go. While I haven't used this feature yet, I'm very excited as my family lives on a 50 acre farm which we visit often. Finally, I LOVE that I can track Kilo via the phone app while he's still within the boundary (or outside if he escapes).
We have two dogs, but bought the first collar (to try out) for our dog that used to escape and roam almost daily, Kilo who is a bordoodle (border collie doodle). We had a manual correction collar, however, as soon as we'd look away he'd bolt. I was very skeptical SpotOn would work for him, however, it did extremely well. He's escaped a few times, but only for seconds and comes right back. It used to be a constant worry with him, we had to be so vigilant watching him or else he'd run off. Now, we just let him out by himself and he never runs off, it's literally life changing!!!!!! I'm sure our neighbors are wondering what happened to the dog they used to see so often ;). I really can't say enough great things about SpotOn. We will DEFINITELY be buying another collar for our other dog.
Gina G.
I love this collar. She escaped twice and the static was at 7 but hasn’t left since. She runs and plays and checks on us from time to time. We have 9 acres and she gets to roam free on about half that.
Also customer service has been amazing.
When I remove the collar from its charger she runs up to us so we can put it on her. She loves it too.
Well worth every penny…. Thank you Spot On peeps ♥️
April E.
I'm sooooo disappointed in how much I paid for this collar and the battery life on it doesn't even last long and doesn't fully charge when sitting on the charger ☹️
Donovan
Must have for a dog with a yard with acreage!
Richard M.
Overall, I am happy with the collar. If I could change a few things they would be:
I like to take my pup on quick short trips, so we are in and out of the yard frequently at times. It would be nice to be able to turn a fence off and on from the app. It may already be possible, I just don't know how to do it. I don't like the idea of taking the collar off and on or turning the collar off and on.
Another thing is making the warning area around the perimeter of the fence larger and possible adding a reminder or lingering tone for once the pup has left the fence.
Thomas R.
It does exactly as advertised and has so much potential!
The battery life and once the dog determines they are leaving the fence are my only concerns. Not the best option when compared to other options for containing the doggos consistently. We are committed to making this work (sticker price!!!)
~18-20 hours, and requires the nightly charge.
~ doggo has escaped (x2 times) and comes back, but while we are reacting battery drains at a way faster rate.
Matthew T.
I have one collar that keeps faulting and shocking my dog while
She is in the house more than 100’ from the fence line :(
William S.
While I have always had pretty good cellular service on my property I never got the collar to work in creating a fenced zone. It kept dropping off. I have also had a few issues tracking the collar when I was a way and checked on my dogs location. I think there maybe an issue with the collar.
Suzett N.
We live on a bit over 10 acres and this has been amazing at being able to enjoy outside time with our pup she’s such a curious dog. And it’s been helping us keep ease of mind on top of that our other dog decided he was going to chew his sisters collar and broke a piece spot on sent us a replacement piece to keep living our best unleashed life!
joe p.
Overall we like the freedom Spoton provides our pup and the ability to check on his location at any time. We have found multiple locations in the mountains where satellites could not be located or accuracy was too low to be usable and more troubling is the accuracy can be off by 100 yards or more in our home location causing false escapes and confusion for our pup. I have tried power cycling but that doesn't seem to fix the issue
Lynn Y.
So far we love it I do wish they held a charge a little longer and one of our charge stations already doesn't work. I am thinking more about getting the subscription but I am already over budget with these. But honestly ithey are cheaper than building a fence. I have 21 acres and the dogs seem to be staying in there boundaries.
Dwonn P.
Fence works good, collar has fallen off a couple times due to the buckle piece sliding off of the strap
Cindy E.
We have a two-year-old Sheppard mix who has a lot of energy. Moving to a new home across the country with a lot of land has given her the opportunity to run free when wearing the collar. It's fun to pull out my phone to see where she is and how long she's been there. We can see when she's sitting at the back door waiting to come in when we are on a different floor or different building on the property. I would recommend this system to anyone.
Nicole O.
This has changed my life. I feel comfort knowing I can let my dog out and not have to worry about where she is. Also now we can bring her camping with no worries now.. She took to the training right away. This is a hassle free fence system..Thank you for allowing my dog to be free and be a dog. Every time we go camping we would have to leave her home or on a runner at camp..No more. She gose everywhere with us now.
Shawn
My puppy bandit only took 1 time for about 10 minutes teaching him what happens when he goes to far I do not use the static correction just the beeping and vibration but he's already got it figured out when he goes past the fence no matter where he turns around and goes back. Pretty awesome!
Jesse E.
This collar works perfectly. We have 10 acres with 3 "Home Zones" or safe zones. One for the house, the workshop, and the detached garage. We also have 2 "Keep Out Zones" for our 2 garden areas. Our dog quickly learned the alert and warning tones and stays inside the virtual fence without needing the optional static correction. If the dog does leave the fence you get notified immediately if you have the optional data plan. You can also check the location of your dog whenever you want to within the mobile application. The GPS is very consistent and accurate.
Rick
Fence creation and editing options cool. Still new. Haven’t gone to the farm to try out bigger property and isolation zones
Mollie H.
Purchased two collar's our dogs were running off everyday after we got SpotOn GPS they have stayed in there fence. Excellent customer service and very pleased with the purchase.
Jeff H.
The collar does perform as described but definitely not consistently. I can not rely on it as you indicate. I wish the collar was easier to power off and expect it to stay powered off. Most times it eventually turns its self back on and in the morning the battery is dead. I certainly cna not rely on it as you advertise or as i had hoped and expected.
Zachary V.
SpotOn gps collars have been an absolute game changer for us. We now have the the ability to move our flock of over 100 sheep to multiple farm locations to graze and have their livestock guardian dogs stay with them. In addition to all the practical applications like setting new boundaries with ease as we transition to different grazing leases, it also provides peace of mind and the ability to check dogs when they’re away from our home farm.
denise r.
It’s real expensive. At first I did like it but then as I started using it wouldn’t even last 7 hours on my dog when the collar was dead. There was times it was fully charged and it wouldn’t shock him he would walk right through the fence. I sent it in for repair and they didn’t do nothing , the battery is still draining real fast. I’m sending it back cause this collar wasn’t cheap
Theresa S.
It is okay could be better had a few problems in the beginning

My pet is a Belgian Malinois named Terra.
We earlier used a Pet Safe dug down fence it worked well but stopped working after 4 years and I am not able to find where the line is broken around our 1,5 acre area. So now I bought the Spot On and have no dug down lines to maintain and I have perfect control of where my pet Terra is.
We live in a rural area where the cell phone signal is very weak. Kind of have to go up the hill a bit to be able to text this does not matter to us since we have very good internet and use Verizon WIFI calling. Now with this said I will add that we are very satisfied with the Spot On product it gets a 10 on a scale of ten.
Now having poor cellphone cover will effect the tracking function since the cell phone signals are used to start and stop tracking function of the Spot On.
The only negative thing I found is the charger. The USB contact on the back of the holder for the collar to charge in is very easily broken, this in combination with the plug in the wall part of the charger that has folding contact legs for the outlet receiver is a bad combination. My charger broke in less than two weeks. So Spot On promptly did send a new charger when I called and complained. Super Service.
When this arrived I built a wood platform for it with a ridge in the back to support the USB cable. I then glued the charger to the wood plate and strapped the USB cable tight to the protecting ridge. This way the USB cable can not move in the USB port at the collar holder charger part.
Problem solved.
The training part was easy Terra was used to the Pet Safe learned this really quick. It just took four days.
Thanks Spot On for a well working product and very good service.

Overall, seems great. Would be 5 star in less remote area. We live remote and it often loses satellites.

Great product. Works perfectly

Haven’t set it up yet waiting for my son to come to Arizona in March my real test will be in Minnesota in May when I fence in 7-8 acres I hope my rating goes to five

Really love the way the collar works but I have a stubborn dog that will sometimes take the shock to get to something or someone. Also it said a large collar fit a 17” neck and mine is 17 1/2” and is loose. He does come straight back but it’s worrisome. Since he came from a shelter we’ve had a lot of work to do with him. Unsure if he is finished growing due to no info on him. Considering his circumstances, he’s doing really good with the collar and it seems to work great. I would highly recommend, just watch collar sizing.
Michael G.
I unfortunately will be send my unit back. My trainer of Belgians stated that my 90 pound 19 month Malinois will run thru the fence without noticing. He a great dog, however, he is viewed as a liability in our neighborhood. Police have visited our home, with a strick warning. We found him a great home far out in the country where he will guard a family and their stock. I will be sending you unit back. Unfortunately, the Belgians, are a discriminated class.

We live on 8 acres, with most of it being wooded. So an in-ground fence was never an option for our dog. We discovered SpotOn GPS fence, and after much research, we bought our own collar. SpotOn has been a lifesaver for us! Our dog, Stella, can run our entire acreage and we don't have to worry about her crossing the highway or wandering over into our neighbors yard. She is a high energy dog, and even when we are outside she still runs around in the woods chasing rabbits or sniffing trails with her nose to the ground. If we haven't seen her for awhile, because she'll usually "check in" every so often, SpotOn gives us a huge piece of mind knowing she is still on our property.
I love that we can also track her if needed. There has been a time where the collar fell off of her, but we were able to find it easily with the tracking feature.
The phone app is user friendly. It notifies you if she tried to break the perimeter of the fence and how long it took her to come back.
I've had to contact customer service a handful of times and I cannot say enough about them. It's always an American person, very friendly, and are so incredibly helpful. They genuinely seem to love their jobs.
The only con that I can come up with is that we have to charge the collar nightly. For us, this is no problem because Stella comes in at night. For others it might be an issue, depending on their dog and what works for them.
All around SpotOn GPS fence has been incredible for us. We give it 5 stars and recommend it to our friends.

SpotOn Fence has finally given my sweet girl Sadie the freedom to run and play while staying safe. It only took a couple of days to train her. It is such a joy to watch her run free!
Donna C.
We just rescued a poodle who was used for breeding and we are assuming spent most of his time in a cage. Because of that, I believe he has significant wanderlust. While trying out the fence, he bolted, went through the perimeter and wandered for 40 minutes before we were able to corral him. He is very afraid of being on a leash, so we can't work on him unless he is off leash. However, now we are very afraid to let him off leash while training him because we don't know if he will just blow through the fence and take the shock. Need help for us regaining the confidence to try training again.

When my wife and I got our black lab puppy we were very nervous about how we were going to keep her contained on our 5 acres and living next to a busy road. I stumbled across spot on and was hesitant at first to purchase. After deciding to finally buy it, she was still to young too use it when I received it. At about 4 months I began training her with it and in only about two weeks she is fully trained and knows all of the various tones. She loves waiting unleashed at the end of the driveway for my son to get off of the bus. I am thoroughly amazed at this collar and would highly recommend to anyone looking to keep their dogs safe in a large area!
Shane R.
I have purchased two SpotOn collars and have been using them for about 2 months now. The SpotOn team helped us with any questions we had from purchasing to setup or training. Thank you! I did purchase the one-year Spot On GPS Dog Tracking plan with both collars and recommend it to anyone that is on the fence regarding that topic. Every dog is different so be patient and give them the right guidance and you will be saying within a couple weeks, why didn't I do this a long time ago. With our two GSP's we started off with a smaller area (2 acres) for training purposes and then expanded it to 40 acres. They roam freely and stay within the boundaries we set up with the SpotOn GPS Fence. From the customer service to the SpotOn Collar, I would like to give anyone that is thinking about purchasing one the confidents that it really works.
David B.
I adopted a 3 yr old border collie, trained in two days and could not have him with out it. He came with little but bark collar training, in a super small fenced yard. He has adapted to collar very well,
Melissa P.
I bought Spoton for my lab! We in live in a rural treed area! I Do not recommend this product! I have had nothing but issues with it! Within the first week the collar wouldn't connect to satellites! They were able to fix over the phone! within a month my collar cracked and got filled with water! They didn't want to replace it but because I had for 1 month, they said they would send me a refurbished one! The collar kept losing satellite signal and my dog would leave its boundary then my GPS app wouldn't track him, so it was useless to pay for that! I have had to return my collar 3 times in a 5-month span. Each time I send my collar off it's gone for 2 weeks at least! Thats 6 weeks I don't have my collar in 5 months. I know want to return it because I don't trust it! They told me " They would fix it again and return it back to me for resale! once I resale the collar, it will lose its warranty for repair! Their return policy is 3 months! Spoton collar is not accurate or reliable! There are way better options out there!
Chris B.
We have had the collar about a month. I like the features and it works well but the collar is already showing considerable wear. We will be lucky if it makes the year. The charger?? Lol, is the cheapest piece of junk. It's already not charging most of the time and the usb c plug in on the charging base is already loose and almost pulls completely out the back. I expected more for $1K
Gibson
been following the training regiment and the dog still escapes
Kimberly H.
We love our Spot On collar. I did the training as you suggested and Bailey seemed to be getting it, but I wasn't sure. Decided it was time to enable the vibration feature, and that did the trick. She really didn't like/felt uneasy about the vibration. It doesn't hurt but she definitely noticed it. We only had to use it a few times and she did great afterward. Never crossed the boundaries. We never even had to use the static correction!
We have 20 acres and feel much more relaxed about her out on the property by herself, knowing she will most likely never cross the boundary.
And the tracking feature is great too. It's fun to be able to look at the phone and know exactly where she is.
Thanks Spot On!
Julia S.
Initially, we thought the collars would work great for us. We were excited after trying some radio signal collars that had a lot of interference and did not work well at all.
After about 3 weeks, one of the collars (we bought 2) wasn't working properly. We had to send it in to get the battery secured in its compartment - no collar for a couple of weeks! Then the other collar started rattling, meaning it too, should be sent in for repair.
The Bluetooth "call" doesn't work at our remote location, and sometimes the collars won't connect, even standing right next to our dogs. The ability to create different fences is great. The ability to shift between them -needs Bluetooth signal, not great.
Tracking- is nice just to be able to know that your dogs are on your property, even if you can't see them, and the tracking mode works pretty well. There's some lag, but overall it works well even with trees, canyons, hills and metal roofs. One thing that radio signal collars won't.
Ultimately, we are sending both the collars back, as we are not trusting that the batteries will not keep failing. For the $$$ (and our dogs safety) we would like to know that the collars will function properly, and so far they seem like they won't last for even a month! We can't be sending them in for repair constantly. For the cost, it seems they should work better.

I love how I can keep my dogs off the busy road we live on without a fence.
The thing I do not like about the collars is the design. if it’s not charged or not working, it’s difficult to tell if it’s working properly. Several times I walk out towards the road with the collar in my hand to see if it’s working. To tell if it’s charged and on, I have to either put it on the charger to see if the light comes on or I need to connect to the app.
And most importantly what I dislike about the collars is the clip. These expensive collars falls off and breaks easily. All of my dogs are very active and their collars fall off easily. We bought three collars, and I’m about to purchase the second strap because the clip broke. we have over 50 acres most of it wooded, if the collar falls off in the middle of the woods, I’m out $1200. Last week. One did fall off pretty close to the woods. Luckily, I was able to find it. The first time one got lost we signed up for the GPS tracking, which stated the color was in the middle of my backyard, but it was up on the hill couple hundred feet away.
Improvement suggestions, an indicator, such as the light being on letting me know the colors on and working, and not just flash when I take it off the charger. Stronger clips to actually keep the collar on my dog

Collar said that it would last 22 hours on a charge. We barely got 7. I would say we got a lemon collar but we bought 3 at one time and charged them all to 100% and they didn’t even make it a full work day.

Need to upgrade your latch. I have 2 dogs and one of my dogs took the other dogs off and now I have a chewed up collar.

The collar works good. No complaints on that end.The charger is cheaply made and needs to be redesigned. If you pay that kind of money for something it should be of high quality material. Then you call customer support and sit on hold forever with no response.

We have had spot on for about two months now for our nine month old German Shepherd, Troy. We followed the training instructions and within a week he had it all figured out, was simple to is simple to use. It is funny, because Troy does know the difference if he is wearing his collar, and not, because if we let him outside without the collar, he quickly goes past the boundary, but always comes back. The fences are quick and easy to set up everywhere we went with him over the holidays, took me a matter of minutes to set up. I would walk the boundary with Troy and never had another issue.

Terrible, We have had numerous issued with this collar. Several times the internal battery has broken loose causing the collar to stop functioning. Another time the the company pushed an update which caused the collar to stop functioning until the tech could connect to rectify the update. Customer service is terrible, for all three issues i messaged the company by both app and email multiple times. The default response is a bot giving basic troubleshooting advice, very difficult to get a response. I tried to call numerous times during business hours (at least 8 tries) and each time i will spent 20+ minutes on an automated hold never reaching anyone. It took 8 attempts to finally get someone to answer.
This is not a daily use collar, It is poorly made and we have not found it to be reliable. We have 10 acres on relatively flat terrain with no canopy cover, and excellent cell coverage for Verizon. The tracking function works infrequently and will not connect should the dog escape the boundary. This device would work well if the dog was under supervision at the park but not reliable enough for an everyday solution. The turn around time for a repair is weeks to a month (not helpful if you are relying on the collar to let your dog outside). It was relatively easy to train our boxer using the device and it work well when it functions properly. The problem is that the WHEN the collar stops functioning your dog quickly realizes that she only needs to stay in the yard when the collar works. As a result the first thing the dog does when let out is to test the boundary and see if the collar is active.
Not worth the $1300. Spot fixed the battery issue the first time but said we are responsible for repairs the second. (Same exact issue same collar, they did not give us a new one the first time they "repaired" the old one.) Repair and shipping are several hundred dollars plus no collar for 3-5 weeks. Daily use for 8 months, and 2 major repairs that took us out of commission for 2 months.

Often goes off on our dog well he is inside the house. The charger is built cheap ours broke after a few months.
It is great for keeping a dog inside the property lines just make sure to take the collar off before you leave your dog unattended.

I'm really struggling with spot on. I have 2 dogs and 2 subscriptions. Awfully expensive when i have yet to be able to track either pup, or see where they are when the collar is on, Bluetooth is connected to the collar, and out in the middle of a field woth no trees or brush. The whistle has yet to work. I'm giving it 1 week then will be getting a refund. This is really frustrating when all my research points to spot on being the best but does not seem to be what its made out to be.

I got SpotOn because my Beagle mix would dig holes under my fence and escape. The Fi collar we had would only let us know AFTER she escaped. I set up the boundary to keep her away from the fence and a let us know if she would spend too much time at the fence. So far it has worked well.
The setup took a few attempts to get it right. I have over 800 feet of fence to walk and test. So the multiple attempts was a time sink.
The battery life is not what is represented. I get about 17 hours of battery life not the 22 reported. I worry if my pup did get out it would not last long enough to track her down.
The GPS is very accurate. My pup does stay away from the boundary, although it took me turning up the static correction to 10 out of 30 to get her to the point she will not go near the fence. Now after about 1 1/2 months she only occasionally goes to the point where static correction kicks in and she usually comes right back.
I feel the no-go areas and the safe areas very limiting. You get a box that you size and it can’t be too close to the boundary. You can’t change the shape.
I also don’t like the way account management is handled. Your email can only be associated with a single account. You can have multiple dogs on the same account. But not multiple accounts to an email. So I could not give access to my dog Walker who might have multiple clients with SpotOn or a friend that night also have SpotOn. So I have my dog Walker swap to my Fi collar when she gets taken for a walk past the boundaries. Ideally they could disable the boundary and leave the collar on and feel safe I could track her down if she got loose on the walk. Also no way to put tags on the collar.
Overall it does the job it needs to do. I have to make sure we charge it every night after last out and get it back on her before first out.

Worst collar ever. We have updated the collar, had one replaced. We still don’t get escape notices in our phone and it says 4 hours since last updated. Worst investment ever for a Husky that takes off after deer all the time. Lost him for 2.5 hours one day and he was over 2 miles away from our house. Found him through an Facebook page for lost pets. And they even said, “found dog with GPS collar.” What a joke this collar is!

Vague instructions. There is a tone on phone if he gets near the "fence" but none on collar. Vibration is minimal. If I lose wifi out from house, everything quits and I have to restart. Defeats purpose of collar.

Too difficult dog kept leaving the fence area

The SpotOn collar has been so freeing for both Ty and us. We have 3 acres with open spaces and a ravine. He keeps his Border Collie self busy patrolling and monitoring "his" space for unwanted deer that used to ravish our flowers and fruit trees...no more!
We have found the product to be reliable and robust and the service both timely, responsive and friendly. Keep up the good work!

The product works amazing and the staff every time I called for help were so patient and kind and helpful. Thank you for making it easy for my dog to enjoy freedon without fences.

We started out a little shaky with understanding the app, but a phone call to SpotOn was very helpful. Our dog has responded pretty well to the collar, and when he does leave his yard, I am glad that I get notified immediately and can see where he is. We still have some work to do, but so far I am quite pleased.

Greatest thing we have ever invested in. It only took a couple of practice sessions before he caught on. I feel absolutely comfortable letting him out off leash!
I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Once we finally got a fence and training area fence the pup learned quickly that the vibration mode was enough for him. He hasn’t pushed past 1st alert since he found 3rd alert. The collar has developed a major rattle and has been sent back for repairs. We have not had a break out yet.We tried the subscription for a week and could not find a satellite at any time so it did not have any value. Basically we are satisfied with the fence and pups reaction.

Absolutely love my two spot on collars! My two Cane Corsos have the run of my farm except where they're not allowed. If I could give one small suggestion, it would be great if I could send a static correction from the app to the collar like the light. Sometimes they chase deer and verbal commands aren’t enough.
