Collar has worked great at home! Has changed my dog's life for the better. I never thought I would see her sleeping in tbe yard on her own. She loves to run free everyday. I had one issue when I was camping in the bwca. There was no cell service or internet and it wouldn't connect with Bluetooth. I was hoping to make a fence around the campsite area (over 1/2 acre). However, she is much more behaved since she has had the collar and we were able to let her run free with no issues.

He still figures it out and gets out just less biggest issue is keeping it charged

I tried the at&t sub first and unfortunately it didn't work for me. I then ordered a new collar with Verizon and it works! They have amazing coverage in my area. I love having peace of mind that my dog is IN the fence while I am doing other things around the house. It has provided my dog a lot more freedom and that makes him so much happier which makes me happy! :)

I would highly recommend this collar. It is a bit of a learning process for myself and my 65 pound coonhound. The alerts were not enough to detour him so I reluctantly used the static shock. He has taken notice to the shock and now once he hears a tone he instantly turns around. I am still teaching him and he is still learning. The shock set at 4 or 5 is not bad according to my wife she agreed to test it and she said it was fine for her. I took her word for it so no need for me to try:). We needed a collar that did not require cell service, we use in very heavily treed area. It is not cheap but it works.

Best dog containment system on the market. Accuracy above everyone else by far. Easy to use and easy to maintain. Fast charging is great. My only complaint is battery life 18 hours is not enough.

These seem to be pretty capable collars. There are a couple of things you should know before buying one. If the cell signal in your area is spotty, you will not be able to track the dogs and the app will lock up when signal is lost. The other thing you should know is that these collars absolutely will not work with some hunting hounds. Their prey instincts are just too strong, and their neck skin is just too insensitive for the collar to reliably keep some of these dogs in the fence. We have 2 Black Mouth Curs which we started training on the collars when they were one year old, and animal distractors are far too strong of a stimulus for them to pay attention to pain. Often if there is a rabbit or raccoon or they pick up a fresh trail scent I can't even hold them on a leash let alone control them with a collar now that they are more than 1-1/2 yrs old and 75lbs each. Without those distractions, they have learned and comply with the fence, but we still can't let them run free. Might be hard to believe if you were to see how friendly they are, but true none-the-less.

We purchased Spot-On about a month ago. The buying experience was pretty good. I received the order in about 3 days. The packaging was impressive. Double boxed with Spot-On tape. The inner box has a magnetic lid and is almost Apple-esk in function. The collar looks nice.
Our dog had a training collar with remote and audible as well as correct functions. He immediately knew what was up!
I have not installed the metal probes for the static correction function, and yet the dog stays in the yard. He has only breached the fence 1 time, and crossed back in 6 seconds. I am truly impressed with how well he picked it up.
The only improvements I would like to see are improved battery life, as we rarely see a full day on a charge.
If the collar goes completely dead and shuts down, it doesn't automatically power back up when sat on the charger base.
Several times, we have put the collar on the dog and sent him outside only to find out that the collar was not on, after taking it from the charger base.
I would like to see the app have an option to do a manual correction, either audible or static (both preferably) like our training collars have, so when we are out and about, the dog obeys better. He knows when he hears the collar beep, he is doing something he shouldn't and comes straight to my Side to sit down.
Overall, it is a pretty nice product, and I look forward to the app evolving into an even better product.
Karson M.
I enjoy the collar a lot. It gives me peace of mind being able to know where he is. Only thing I would change is having an option to beep the collar while a fence is active for recall. My pup is E-collar trained so he’s kinda hard headed when it comes to recall unless he’s being beeped. As you can see in the pic I shared I have to keep his hunting collar on for recall. (Sport dog collar) having the option to beep the spot on collar with the phone app would be very useful.

We are about a month into training, and it is taking much longer than the two weeks SpotOn estimates. My free consultation with Rick was very helpful, however we now have some new issues to address and I feel I need further professional help. Penny is a very sweet but challenging husky/shepherd mix with a strong prey drive. I suspect she is going to need quite a high static correction, which I am conscientiously struggling with.
On a positive note, SpotOn is an extremely accurate and consistent GPS product.
I hope we can resolve our issues because we are looking forward to traveling with this collar and living our best lives off leash.
Tracy C.
At 3-1/2 months our puppy Maggie learned the boundaries in just 3 days. Day 3 I was walking her around the 3 acre fence without a leash. She recognized the single tone and knew to get back to the “safe zone”. She hasn’t left the yard one time since getting it. Now I am able to let her run 3 acres without worry she’s going to get in the cow pastures on either side of our place.
We leave the collar on her all day. After 10-12 hours the battery definitely needs charged.

Had an issue with battery holding charge as the collar neared 1 year old. Customer service had us send it in and they determined that they would replace collar free of charge. Whole transaction only took a few days and we had a replacement collar. They went above and beyond my expectations which are high to begin with.
Burton H.
Exceeded expectations!
Dean H.
works great, wish the battery would last a little longer but overall no complaints. the safe zone is an improvement.
Katey H.
Love the new update that keeps track of the escape history and gives you exact exit and re-entry and duration. So far it’s been a blessing, only wish the battery life was longer.
Brian B.
Seems to work well so far. It has gotten him a couple of times when following me into the garage. Not sure why.
Amanda S.
Great service Spot On just like the name says.
Jennifer S.
I wasn’t sure if it would work on our Great Pyrenees. She’s our guard dog so she needs to be loose but there’s a leash law in our county. Everything we let her loose out of pen she’d run off to one neighbor or another. We’ve been working on training. We had to get up to a three but she’s consistently staying on our 13 acres doing her job! Highly recommended! Moxie is 2 years old.
Teresa K.
If our dog could right a review, he would give you more than five stars. His life has been changed by spot-on. The collar we use to use limited him to a very small area. He is now able to cross several bodies of water, run down our private drive and tromp through the woods on our property. He is living the best life!
Melvin K.
Collar is excellent, previously had a hard wired system that was constantly broken. This Collar is one of my best purchases to date. We have a 8 month old small munsterlander that requires lots of exercise and since we started using spot on system she is out all day and we don't have to worry about her. Would recommend this product to anyone with active pets. She learned the tones in less than a week and since we started using it her behavior has been excellent. Happy puppy, happy owners. Thank you.
Jeremy K.
Seems to work well one of my collars doesn’t always always stay connected and I have to reboot
Todd T.
Works as expected. Wish the collar warning beeps were louder. My GSD reacts better when my phone displays the tones at a higher volume. When my phone isn’t connected, she sometimes ignores it. Would also be nice to have a linked remote so you could also use the same collar when training your dog commands
Patrick C.
I like the product but having a way to raise and the intensity of the elert signals and vibration levels remotely would be a big plus.
Michael D.
Georgia is living life free from restraints! Georgia is an Aussiedoodle with lots of energy. Even though she’s just learning, she still has moments of excitement. When these moments happen, she runs through the fence. She feels the correction , but her excitement carries her through. I feel with continued training, she’ll be good and stop running through the fence.
Tom P.
Spoton repaired our dog's collar and our dog is back enjoying unleashed freedom. Thank you Customer support team for quick response time .

My dog is a large cane Corso/blue pit mix. He hasn't escaped once since we started using the spot on collar. Thank you for real you have no idea the peace of mind I have now.

We own 34 acres with woods, pasture and vineyard. Tinto, our 10 month old mixed multi-breed, loved to disappear into the woods. He would come to our call, but after 10 to 15 minutes of calling. Our woods have poison oak, coyotes and bobcat, besides an occasional cougar (mountain lion). We don't have a good way to put up a hard fence, so I researched invisible/electronic fences, read reviews and was very impressed with SpotOn's having an app to track, set the fence and the multiple satellites. It did cost more but it has been worth it. It took Tinto only 2 days to understand where the fence was and to avoid crossing or getting too close to the boundary. I watched him chase a squirrel toward the woods. He crossed the fence got a static shock and came back right away. After that the sounds kept him away from the "fence". The SpotOn collar and invisible fence have reduced my stress and Tinto is comfortable to hang around home. This is a great product!
Betheny K.
The collars keep losing connections and not able to track them. Wish you could control the collars with your phone to give your dog a notice sound or shock to come back home.
Penny P.
I was nervous about training my dog about the boundary but she learned very quickly. I would take her up to the tone warning, which I could also hear on my phone, then say "back back back" as I walked backwards and she would follow. I did this many places along the limit. On the second day I walked her towards the boundary and she stopped and wouldn't go any further even with my coaching. I put my ear down by her collar and could hear the warning tone. She already knew! Support was very helpful with my learning curve.

Happy dog loves is freedom on three acres with a busy road. Great product

There's a lot of room for improvement on tracking your pets

Had some hiccups, but helpful staff made things whole. Things working good now.
Hunter K.
Spot on offers an absolutely phenomenal product, and an even better staff! Any issue we have has been seamlessly rectified, can’t recommend you guys enough!
Mike H.
First got the SpotOn and it worked great. Took 7 month old puppy a week or so to figure it out. Then after a month or two it wouldn't charge. sent it back and it was quickly returned. That fixed the charging problem. Then fought it trying to acquire satellites. Would acquire 20+ but dog would stand up and went to zero. I asked to send it back and take a look. No questions, sent the shipping label and returned it and again they quickly fixed it and returned it. so for past month or so it has been working great.
so had two issues, but they were quickly resolved at no cost to me. The support team is great and very responsive - even on the weekends. I think the 2nd problem was from a wire being knocked loose when the charging board was replaced.
So as it works now I'd give it 5 stars, but with two issues I knocked it down, but the customer service and repair turn around deserves 6 stars.
Robert S.
I have GSD for about 30 years and have tried everything possible. This collar works great. We have 1 acre of land and now she can run over all of it. Tried electric fence works good till the line breaks and you have to go out and find the break. I can track my dog if she ever gets out. So far that has not happened. Love this collar. Thanks Guys
Catherine S.
Absolutely LOVE it!! Our pup is 7yrs old ~ he's a rambler! We've had to go looking for him numerous times..... not anymore! We live on 400+ acres so he can still run free without stressing us out!!! Love love love it!! Trained him within 30 minutes!
Worth every penny!
John P.
The Spot On seems to work best in a clear area. I have 6 Acres with about 1 acres wooded. Leah loves the woods and is in it most of the time. I'd say 75% of the time I will loose the Signal when she's up there witch unfortunately is where my neighbors house is so she will still go up there. I don't want to move the lone and keep her from the woods so I will deal with it. For what I received and how it works I feel the price is high. I feel it should be in the $800 range because of the bugs. I won't return the collar because it works on the other 60% of my property just fine so having 60% coverage is better then none.
Ben D.
Works as it should! At first you have to keep setting the shock because it doesn’t save it for some reason. But once it’s set it works everytime. CON- reason I gave 4 stars is because it only shocks for about 5 feet and then nothing happens. So if your pup sees a deer and runs right thru the barrier, the collar is useless unfortunately. Especially for the price.. and what I mean is once they go out of bounds for the shock, if they go about 5 more feet it stops vibrating and shocking as if they are in the boundary and nothing happens until they come back in and go out again.. thumbs down on that part big time
Sarah H.
To say we were skeptical is an understatement, we procrastinated and went back and forth several times….. and we def should not have! This is hands down one of the best purchases we have ever made for our Lab! Bear even enjoys his new found freedom!
Diane M.
Love the idea of this collar however I find it hard to tell whether or not the collar is on without actually walking up to the “fence” line and testing it. Our dog, a Great Dane, seemed to figure it out quickly. We have a large rural area so working off satellite is ideal. We have extremely poor cell service so purchasing the “tracking” option has been pointless for us. If we had cell signal it would be awesome!
Elise O.
The Spot on fence has worked very well for our 9 month old Bernese mountain dog. It was very simple to set up our perimeter and the app function has been very consistent. The charging cradle prongs broke in the first month but customer service was excellent , fast, and replaced the part ASAP. We are worry free if our dog gets out on occasion to chase something or someone fun because we can respond to the breach area push notifications quickly and track him back home.
TAMARA B.
The collar is working great, I'm so glad I hung in there with it. I'm less stressed and Quigley is less stressed. I have my 5 acres fenced so he can run and play with the cats and chase squirrels.
Woody W.
I am still in the learning curve but Bentley caught on almost instantly. One issue I am having is in tracking mode. The return spot I get is always delayed. We show probably 150 yards back from where we actually are on the map and my phone constantly locks up in tracking. I actually have to close the program and start over to make it work??? The collar is set for woods mode also.
Wayne B.
Doing great. Great product. Sure beats digging up your yard for Invisible fence.

Corey S.
So far so good! He picked it up pretty quickly. I wouldn’t say he’s totally cured yet from having escape sessions but he does understand what the tones lead too. I just use it on vibration mode. But I like that he can be off leash and we keep working on it.
Jim K.
Great customer service. Had an issue with a collar and they replaced asap. We have a dog and I have a collar for the grand dog. The pup was at the house for a week and was trained on the collar in a day. Gives you a lot of piece of mind with active dogs.
Helen S.
I love Spot On. My dog respects his boundaries. It’s wonderful! One concern — recently the body of the collar is becoming hot to the touch. So hot I had to remove it from my dog. That is a huge concern.
Karen N.
The SpotOn fence has been a LIFESAVER for us! We had tried other fences but nothing worked. We have an 87 lb. Bernedoodle and in the last six months, he had started to leave our yard and run down our driveway and across the road. He no longer does this - in fact, he only goes about 1/2 down our long driveway and no further. He has about 2 acres to run. We no longer have to be outside every second with him. He learned the system in 2 days and turns right around when he hears the sound. He does not want a static correction! Today we took him to our daughter’s home and created a fence there and he did great.
We are SO happy with this fence - worth every penny!
Tabitha A.
The SpotOn collar is very nice but definitely needs some improvement. I really wish the battery life would last longer. There was an emergency where I had to leave and stay gone until the next day and of course my dogs collar died. We live out in the country on a 40acre farm. Our neighbor has threatened to shoot our dog so her collar not working means life or death. Also, there is no history to see where all our dog has been. This is very important because I can see where my problem areas are so I can reinforce boundaries if need be. I also wish if there collar is turned off by accident or by a neighbor, hint hint,……after he shoots her I can still find my dog and the collar. For this problem I ended up adding an AirPod to her collar. Just wish the collar had this capability.
Marion B.
The collar works petty good ,it's a little glitchy and has to be reset every so often .the battery last as advertised.
The male side of the clip on the collar is real cheep and needs to be redesigned . Mine fell apart and I had to modify it.
To track with the collar you have to have good cell service with the collar and the phone you are making changes with.
Sam S.
Delivers on every promise. If I could add one feature, it would be a remote callback.
Leo M.
We live on a 10 acre ranch and she has 9 acres to run around on. I never have to worry about her even though we live along side a major hiway.
Julie F.
We purchased 3 SpotOn collars and of November/early December 2022. We were really hesitant due to price but we had trouble containing our livestock dogs. Setting up the collars went smoothly and creating a fence was easy. 2 of the 3 dogs took to the collars with ease and the 3rd dog hates anything new so it’s still a learning process with her. I’m psyched my livestock dogs have the freedom to go everywhere our livestock go to keep them safe. We do definitely still have glitches with the collar but luckily it hasn’t been anything too serious. The company has been quick to correct any issues we have dealt with. Overall I’m happy with the collars and they meet all the expectations we had. Yes they appear costly until you get quotes on physical fencing of the same area. I also have an area that runs through my yard that I need to leave accessible for public access and I can not fence that area off. These work perfectly!

absolutely no issues

Titan the Titan (aka Big Sexy in his tuxedo) is more than our dog, he's our best friend, mascot, and protector. Titan is a Great Dane. This breed is smart, easy to train, but full of anxiety. He's been a city dog his whole life, until we recently bought our own piece of land to build on. He went from being mostly indoors to mostly out. He went from 1000 Sq ft of privacy fenced yard to 4 acres of unfenced land. We had used a 'beep collar' for correction for a couple of years - never shock - for things like not getting into the trash or staying off of the couch, so when he started venturing out of our yard we naturally started looking into similar collars that could correct him with a beep without us having to be here. Ther are basically only two companies that make GPS collars that have an app to program a digital fence. Halo vs Spot On. Halo was nearly half of the price and because I knew we would need to have one on Titan 24/7 that was the natural way to go. I purchased 2 Halos and waited for their arrival. All the reviews and videos couldn't be false right? WRONG! Within 2 days Titan started being 'corrected' for not being within the 'fence' when he was literally 100ft from the boundaries. When I tried to contact Halo I couldn't have a real person help, I had to follow digital instructions to recalibrate the collar or join a zoom call or do the 'dog park meeting' in the app. I was told the GPS could 'drift' in remote areas and that the collar could be doing this amongst dense trees or if the battery was low. I assure you we have EXCELLENT cell signal here, no trees, and kept the collars fully charged. This happened MULTIPLE times and each time was the same experience with no real person listening to what was happening. They kept asking me to record and send them back end data to try and help others experiencing the same as us. I got the very distinct impression that there were LOTS more going through this and that our dogs were guinea pigs for software that wasn't fully developed. I tried to make it work until one day I let Titan out and he would only go 5ft out the door and literally sit down to pee and shake with tremors for fear of a beep when he was doing nothing wrong! Can you imagine if I had the shock function on?!? He may have died from a heart attack!!! ENOUGH! I sent back the collars and demanded a refund. The company insisted they were working on the issue, refunded all money except shipping (both ways), and I moved on. I was skeptical to try Spot On after my Halo experience, but Titan kept wandering to the road and we were afraid of losing him to a fast traveling car. I reluctantly ordered 1 Spot On collar and 1 cell phone plan. The collar arrived. I set the boundaries and put the collar on Titan (in fear I might add). ZERO ISSUES! I could not believe it could be this easy. How on earth could one company get it so wrong and Spot On get it so right? After a month of no problems, Titan was happy, we were happy... BUT then we lost a piece of the charger and we still needed 2 collars and only had 1. I called to see if I could order a charger and maybe a second collar and I was pleasantly greeted with a real person. He was wonderful to work with and took the time to explain how the piece of the charger may still be stuck to the collar - he was right! I was so thrilled with the customer service compared to my digital experience with Halo that I asked if I could place an additional collar order. He was so helpful he gave me a multi collar discount even though I purchased the collars separately. Another month went by and we lost one collar after it had died (completely our fault). My ONLY complaint with Spot On is I can't see where my dog makes a perimeter breech so I called Spot On to see if they could help and they explained they are working on software to let the customer see the locations of a perimeter breech, but in the meantime we're happy to help me locate where my missing collar was last seen. Seriously this company has been the best company to work with in every way. Customer Service is a thing of the past with a lot of companies, but not this one. Is it pricey? YES, but if I were to price putting a fence around my 4 acres I would have had to take out a loan. Sure j could have put up a kennel or dog run, but that defeats the purpose of moving to the country. Also, even if I put up a fence it still could not do what this collar does. Want to go to my parents house? No problem, set up a fence! Going camping? No problem, set up a fence! Having guests over or got new chickens? No problem, change the fence! Most importantly, not only are we happy customers, but Titan is now back to his old self. He still breeches the perimeter from time to time, but the simple beep reminds him to come home and he does. The battery lasts for 18 ish hours minimum so 2 collars is more than enough to swap out. We couldn't be prouder to be Spot On customers and I am probably their biggest fan for saving my dear pup friend from abuse and trauma that the other collar did to him. If anyone wonders why they should spend more... because your best friend deserves more Thank you Spot On!!!
Nicole H.
My dog has broken out of the yard with his collar on twice. We are pretty sure it is because he followed the neighbor dogs the one day and the other time it was because he needed to have his long hair clipped a little bit so he could feel the collar. The only issue we have is that he scratches the collar and it pops the clip on the band which causes the the band to come look and slip through the snap that keeps the collar on his neck. Thus causing the collar to fall off completely. Thankfully he has only done that a couple times and we were able to find the collar. We do not have the location activated so it was like an Easter egg hunt for his collar in our 10 acres. We are very happy with the functionality of this system and have recommended it to many of our friends.

We couldn't be happier with our SpotOn collars. My husband and I have 2 Weimaraners just over two years old and they love their freedom. SpotOn lets our boys roam free on 10+ acres and gives them freedom to explore safely. Living in the country there are so many things to explore from new scents to birds flying over head, no matter what it is my boys love to chase and explore. SpotOn gives me as a dog LOVER peace of mind that my boys are safe while they enjoy their day. SpotOn customer service is like no other, they have been so helpful in every aspect of my needs. The Generation2 collars are very easy to use and the app is very user friendly. Technology aside, the team at SpotOn seem to love dogs and they make my life as a customer very easy. My boys are very busy, active and curious, combine that with a high prey drive and you have a typical day on the farm with Loki and Levon. SpotOn gives my boys freedom while giving my husband and I peace of mind for their safety!! Thank you SpotOn for an amazing product and for being amazing people standing behind it! I don't know what we would do without our SpotOn collars!
Jim
Living on a mountain in western NC with 7 acres of heavily wooded, interesting terrain, that borders 100's of acres of undeveloped land, it can be a challenge to keep an GSP with a high prey drive safe and secure. This collar allows my dog to be able to roam freely without constant supervision. The piece of mind it gives to be able to monitor my dog while doing chores, etc is worth every penny of the purchase price.
When I had a small issue with the collar, it was handled quickly and painlessly under warranty.
Excellent product & excellent customer service.
Dell
I made a mistake setting up my account and had to call customer service for help! What an incredible team! They were courteous, kind, efficient, and competent….and helped me for over an hour to correct a mistake that was of my own doing! I can’t wait to set up my fence, hopefully today! Thank you so much!
Kelly
This collar has been a life saver for our LGD!!! He unfortunately has been Facebook famous on our community lost and found pet page!! He is able to be out at night working and I feel safe that he is not going off property! The customer service has been FANTASTIC!!!! They always respond right away no matter how small the issue is they are there to help. They also stand 100% behind their products!! I will always use SPOT ON for our dog now and for future dogs on the farm!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the entire SpotOn team for developing such an awesome product. I have a dog who follows his nose - even though he's been taught boundaries. We have a 5 acre yard, but it's on the corner of a busy county road and a state highway. Prior to getting the collar, I found my dog across the road and he nearly got hit by a car 2 times. I was worried the solution to keeping him safe was a small kennel or always being tied up - but I hated those ideas. This collar is a game changer! It keeps my dog safely in our yard and now I can let him out on his own. I use the static correction, but he only tested it twice and now listens when the warning beeps go off.
It's great for us, so thanks again SpotOn team! - Jill and Charlie

Can’t say enough about Spot On. I recommend to anyone who asks me about it. My dog is like a ninja when it came to keeping her in the yard. Nothing stopped her from getting out until I got this collar. She isn’t a digger, 6’ fence wasn’t enough to stop her. If there was a critter on the other side she would be over it and gone in a blink. I recently moved to a rental property for work on 5 acres with no fence and she hasn’t left her virtual fence once. I can travel anywhere and create a fence and she stays inside of it. Whether it’s a trip to the park or visiting family I can set it up and not have to worry about her getting away. 5 stars isn’t enough. Customer service is also amazing. Quick response with the few issues I’ve had. Worth every penny.

I have been using the Spoton system for quite a longtime here in the arctic cold of Alaska. My family is so glad that we can let our dogs run the 4 acres that we have. The battery was our biggest concern in the cold but it has held up well giving us around 12 hours of battery life. The app is easy to use and control the settings and see where your dog is at. Our dog Millie gets very excited each morning when we put the collar on her. She is a much more behaved now that she can run and play without restriction. The system was easy to set up and create the map either by walking the boundary or drawing it out on your phone. The system is well worth the investment and much easier that building a fence or burying a wire. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants what is best for their family and dog.

I selected SpotOn because all the reviews said it has better GPS tracking capabilities than the competitor. I was excited to get my little pooch started. My yard is just over 1/2 an acre and 90 ft wide so I thought the collar would work for us. Everything I read said you needed a minimum of 1/2 acre and 85ft wide. Unfortunately, it just didn't work consistently. The collar wouldn't beep or vibrate when I'd walk my dog out of the virtual fence area. Sometimes it would notify my phone of this, but not the collar. I reached out to SpotOn customer service to troubleshoot. Their support team was always quick to respond and super easy to work with. Ultimately, they helped me determine that my yard is not big enough for the collar to be effective. Although my yard meets the minimum 1/2 acre requirement and 85ft width requirement, my neighbors' houses are not spaced far enough away to have 30 feet of space between my house and the virtual fence and any other buildings. The 30 ft. requirement is not something I saw in the sales literature for the collar. Also, because fence perimeters might move up to 10 feet with GPS, you really do need a yard wider than 85 ft. because you need to plan for an extra 10 feet on both sides as a buffer - so really you need more like a minimum of 105 feet wide at the narrowest part of your yard and at least 60 feet between buildings. I'm sure it is a great solution for larger yards. But definitely not a fit for a suburban neighborhood.

V1 was successful and now V2 is even better. A great US made product. Rocky (4 yo GSP) eagerly waits for his SpotOn collar, knowing it means he can roam outside. Thanks for the freedom.
Robb Kamp
The collar is much more durable, and the software improvements are significant!
Dean Huiet
Both of my dogs have used the collars for less than a year. So far it works great!! Definitely recommend this product!!
Dan Iacono
I had the first generation and now 2nd generation versions. The mobile app is much easier to use and now you can draw maps in the app versus walking around. Have 1 acre with mixed woods, so it works with smaller properties. Love bringing along to other people's house and quickly mapping their property. Occassionaly, our German Shepard chases a deer and breaks the fence (nothing will stop her) - love the tracking feature kicks in automatically and is very accurate. Great job on V2!

The support, the real human support, is priceless and the fact that these collars work so well is huge too. I'm so glad We chose quality over price. Can't say enough good about this company.
Ben
New spot on collar much better then the original. Charging station much better, much easier to update the software. We have 13 acres half wooded. My do roams freely. Worth the money.

This collar is amazing, I have been using it for 3 months with great results. Gus knows his boundary lines that cover approximately 75 acres with 1/2 mile of road frontage. The new app for drawing or redrawing the fence is a great upgrade. The only thing better then then the SpotOn collar is the service, they have answers to all my questions and good advice on using the collar. Thank you for making a fine product and backing it with excellent support. John

These collars are cutting edge technology with good old fashioned real people support for their customers. Try getting a real person from that "other" GPS big name sponsored collar company to talk to you, you won't. I researched support of the product and Spot On came up on top every time and have proven it to us.

We have had our collar for a year and a half and live in a very rural area with many trees in our yard. Our dog adapted to this fence very quickly and never crosses the line even with just using tone only option. This company has stood behind their product and resolved issue with charging. Would highly recommend this collar. Has stood the test of dog outside a lot and gives him the freedom to roam and play in the creek without any worries of him escaping or getting in the road. Totally worth it!

Quit working within two years. Awesome until it stopped working. After two short years it now won’t stay on even with a full battery.

This GPS collar/fence has been a life changer for us! We have 5 acres with woods and open areas. Our dogs have responded very well and have been so adaptable! We had an issue with one collar and the Spot On Team was excellent to work with, we had a new collar shipped to us and were back up and running within the week. The new Beta Fence is excellent and has worked really well. Thank you again for all your support and a great product!

We live in rural Vermont and these collars provide solid containment for my two dogs, keeping them inside a 1 1/2 acre area and also keeping them out of trouble with neighbors' dogs and the many critters we have here. I've also used the collars when traveling to set up new containment areas, which is a major plus to this kind of geofencing technology. My only beef is that the collars feel like they could be more durable - my two dogs play rough, which leads me to always be worried one of them will do something to void the warranty. SpotOn Customer service is phenomenally helpful when such events occur but these are pricey collars being worn around the necks of rough and tumble dogs!

This collar is a fantastic solution for those who need to create multiple fences, ie home, parents house/inlaws, lake house, besties backyard, camping..the possibilities are endless! It's pricey but if you needed 2 underground fences installed, you're already saving money. Very easy to setup and install, and love that you can create boundary lines through bodies of water (we have a lake house and want to keep the girls in our swimming area). I do wish we could create fences or portions of a fence by drawing on the map in the app (hopefully coming soon?!) but otherwise is a great product. Love that this technology was created so I can have peace of mind wherever I bring the girls. They get their freedom and I know they are safe and staying where they should be. Training was very easy for us but they had been previously trained on underground electronic fences and just needed a quick reminder with the flags. Also, loving the new design of the Gen 2 collar! If you're on the fence, just go for it! SpotOn support is great to work with and will help you every step of the way.

This collar, app, and company are fabulous. Our puppy got used to the collar and was pretty easy to train. We had questions and a couple of minor issues, all of which were handled smoothly and promptly by a very good support organization.
This technology has allowed us to give our dog the freedom she wants to explore and be in our yard without any fencing! I would recommend this highly, even given the high cost.

My Weims, Loki and Levon are 'lovin' life' with their SpotOn collars. We have both a generation1 collar and a generation2 collar. Both collars are user friendly which is good when your boys are in a hurry to get outside. Before SpotOn our boys didn't have the freedom to enjoy our 13 acres that we live on safely. SpotOn has given them freedom to have fun in a safe environment. Training was easy, the fence set up was easy and if we were a little confused SpotOn customer service was wonderful. I can't say enough positive things about our SpotOn collars and the customer service we have received from SpotOn. I highly recommend SpotOn to anyone looking for GPS collars.

We have had the collar for over a year. Worked great. Then this year we were having problems with the GPS on the collar. I called, we went over various problems that it could be, and took a few photo's to send to SPotOn. With in a week, I had a brand new, newer generation collar, that works even better. We were so impressed. Yes it is a lot of money up front, but it is a superior product and a great company behind it!

Our sweet rescue dog hates being indoors, but wandered miles away. She was awful inside and just wanted to be outdoors. I decided to try this system as a last resort, and it worked for her! We would not have been able to keep her without this system. We "fenced" in 6 acres for her and she couldn't be happier. She is outside 95% of the time. Amazing product + amazing customer service. Thank you SO MUCH SpotOn!

I have been waiting for something like this to come to the market. Have had it a few days and it's been great so far. I would recommend. Reason for 4 star is they need to sell replacement straps. Some how my dog broke the straps and I need this product so can't ship it right now to get fixed. For my feedback I think this collar needs a heavy duty material as material is harder to break.

We have a 1-year-old Golden Retriever who had been trained on a (wired) Invisible Fence. We recently moved to a house on a lake and wanted our dog to be able to come out on the dock and go swimming. A physical fence, including a traditional wired Invisible Fence, would not work for this. The Spot On fence was exactly what we needed, since the collar is waterproof and we could draw the boundary out past our dock into the lake (I just used our kayak to “walk” that part of the boundary area). So far it has worked quite well. Since she was already trained on our old Invisible Fence, it was quick to get her used to this one. I went to Lowes and bought some white flags to help her learn where the boundary was. She does have a tendency to occasionally run through it to see the neighbor dog, and I know she knows what she is doing because she hesitates, then sprints across as maximum speed. Same with coming back (even though the collar does not correct when she returns). So she knows where the boundary is but decided to endure the correction. We have the static correction set very low, so I will increase it gradually until this stops. The other time she left the boundary was when we took her out on the boat and I forgot to take off her collar!

The theory behind the gen 1 collar was cool, but it lacked much to be desired. Buckle constantly broke, app was finicky and not user-friendly, signal wasn’t reliable, etc. The gen 2 collar addressed all these issues. New buckle seems much more durable, new app is WAY better, and the signal strength is far superior. Also, the charging dock is terrific, as is the low-profile, flexible nature of the new collar. Very happy with it!

Their support is usually very responsive and helpful. That cannot be understated in a time where customer service in industry is sorely lacking.
The newly released (v2?) collars are worlds better that the first generation collar; night and day. The mobile app is now refined, elegantly designed, and actually works. The cellular reception on the 4g collars versus the older 3g ones is expectedly much improved. The battery life appears to me to be virtually the same, which is slightly disappointing. However, we can get most of the day and night on a charge. Everything can now be controlled and configured from your phone instead of the older buggy and overall horrific on-collar menu selections.
I have had several issues with the collars randomly refusing to charge. This is an ongoing test and evaluation issue. SpotOn support has been very responsive and receptive. They have offered to have me send back the collars for inspection, so I may end up doing this.
I am disappointed that they decided to use a proprietary charging base instead of USB-C. It cost me another $50 to get a 2nd set for my two collars. For the price point, I wish they would have at least included that for free of charge.
Finally, they have promised me the ability to create maps from the phone using a map instead of walking the line. 4-stars minimum if they can deliver on that promise.

This product make our life so much easier.
We love this product. We started looking for containment devices to make sure we protect our pets and to be sure they would not get in the roads and get injure It gives us the opportunity to let them out to use the bathroom, and spend time outside without being on the leash. It is easy to set up and it works really well at keeping them confined as they don't like the shock result if they goes outside of the perimeter set. I will highly recommend this product, The customer service is excellent!!

The actual item was too bulky for my dog and the boundary shifted too far and often.
As for customer service, the item was not shipped during timing that was promised. Got lost in the USPS mail and was told that I had to figure it out. Arrived 10 days after expected arrival and missed out on 10 days of the free trial period (now only 35 days).
Returned the item and after getting a confirmation email that the item was received, waited 8 business days. called them to see where the refund was and they told me to wait 14 days. Waited 14 days and finally got an email it was refunded, but never hit my account. waited 3 days and called and they said I need to talk to my credit card company. They had no details (transaction ID, etc.), only that it was refunded.
Returned the item 18 days ago and still waiting for my money back.

Just got my Gen 2 and am extremely happy so far. Setup was a snap and my to dogs are taking to it nicely. Had to tighten up the collar on one as she is a Houdini in getting out of things. App works great and my wife and daughter keep kidding me because I check on their location so often. I’ll write a follow up after using it for a while.

I was an early adopter of the Gen1 and was so impressed and loved the collar. I never thought you guys could make it this much more amazing! Between the new app and the new design of the collar, I am in love with it. The app is more intuitive and the interface so much nicer. The collar is a bit smaller which is perfect for my dainty girl. She really loves it and it looks nice on her. We've used the collar while we have been camping and it just worked so well. I can't say enough good things. Thank you guys for being customer and pet advocates, it is such a relief to work with businesses like yours. 100% recommend this collar!

My wife and I recently acquired a handsome golden retriever puppy that we named Gunner. We have 5 acres of wooded land, and we wanted our new addition to enjoy our beautiful property. Like many pet owners, we were concerned that Gunner may run off chasing some wildlife, or another dog. After extensive research, we purchased a Spot-On collar system. We have not been disappointed. I set up the fence in 20 minutes. It covers well over an acre of heavily wooded land. After 1-2 weeks of training, we began letting Gunner off leash for small stints at a time. The collar and supporting app worked perfectly. If he does not return on the "come" command, we simply select track and we find him in minutes. What a great peace of mind. Did I mention it is waterproof? Guner is an avid swimmer. He spends as much time in the pool as the grandkids, with no collar issues. I had to reach out to customer service a few times. It was mostly my lack of understanding of the system. Each time they were extremely helpful. This is not the cheapest system on the market. We were not willing to jeopardize Gunner's safety to save a few bucks. We have not been disappointed. I have and will continue to recommend this system to future dog owners.

We purchased 2 Generation 1 collars last year. We had a difficult time training the first dog. Fortunately the tracking worked so we could find her. It turned out the fence worked inconsistently. Then the tracking stopped working. That turned out to be due to 3G being shut down. Other problems include the map deactivating on it's own and the correction setting changing at random. Despite multiple calls to technical support and 3 returns for inspection the problems are unresolved. Also we have a new dog and transferred a collar to her but the information displayed on the collar cannot be updated without cell service of which there is none. Another issue is that to connect with the collar with via Bluetooth it needs to done through the app which didn't work while SpotOn's server was down for 2 weeks. One collar we couldn't use during that period because the correction setting had changed and we were left with no way to change it back. The Generation 2 collars are supposed to resolve these issues but to upgrade our collars is $1000. I don't feel that added expense is justified to replace collars in less than one year that don't work as promised. This does not reach the bar of standing behind your product.
David
If you want use the "where is my dog" service or see your maps on the app, you'll likely be disappointed. They use AT&T 3G coverage! I experience it as no coverage at all!

We are on collar #3 and it's only been 2 yrs. There is something defective in them and we have to keep replacing them. I wonder if it is worth the cost now. They should last longer than a few months. Our dog is not rough on them and there is no reason they should just stop working.
Service has been attentive, but that does not make up for the trouble we have had. Frustrated..... to say the least. What do we do with a $1500 collar that does not work????

Purchased two collars for our dogs. We live on a large open property and these are very inconsistent at best. They either do not show up on the app or they cannot keep the GPS signal- this out dogs are constantly out of the set areas.
Don’t waste your money on these.

I recently purchased a collar for our dog, Annie Jo. We've been using it for a few weeks now and it is performing perfectly on our property. After a few training sessions she has remained in her boundary and out of harms way! We know exactly where she's at all times through the tracking app. Although she has breached her boundary on one occasion, getting the alert through the app has given us even more confidence in this system and the safety it provides our dog. Setting up the virtual map was easy and using the flags helped me keep track of my route while I was creating the boundary. I would advise anyone that is creating a map on uneven terrain to use two flags taped ontop of each other for height if the ground slopes any because I lost sight of a couple and had to start over! Just as impressive as the functionality and reliability of this system is the impeccable customer service I've had throughout! I honestly can't day enough about the customer service and the folks at SpotOn; they've gone above and beyond all expectations! You know you've got a superior product because it's backed by superior service and support from people that are genuinely invested in you and your pets! Thank you SpotOn...you are absolutely a life saver!

We have a small yard (just under 1/2 acre) but we were desperate since we unexpectedly adopted a German-Shepard mix puppy and needed some type of containment while permitting the puppy the space he needs to exercise until we could have a fence installed. Due to COVID-19 supply problems, our fence was delayed for over 3 months. In the meantime, we had to rely on SpotOn. I compared the various other options, and despite the steep initial cost, I preferred the flexibility of not requiring a subscription. We have the original SpotOn collar and I have a few suggestions (can't fit here). Honestly, at the end of the day, I could probably get very similar functionality if I just purchased a simple smartphone (or even better a SmartWatch) and wrote an app.
Bottom line: Would I purchase this again? Yes, definitely.
By the time the fence was installed, we didn't really need it as he had learned his boundary. We traveled to my parents, and I quickly setup a fence and he respected the boundary right away. Can he still get in trouble and run after something? Sure - he did it at my parents and many times at our home chasing deer. Perhaps we are still very light on the static correction (we started, as recommended, at 0, then 1, than 5, then 10, then 15 which worked for a bit, then 16, 18, and now 20. We still have room to go, I just didn't want to hurt him (he already yelps when he gets corrected at 20, but I suspect a lot of that is surprise and less pain).

We have had our collar for our 1 year old Brittany for about a month and so far so good. We live on 20 acres of wide open space and were having issues with our dog not respecting property lines. I did a ton of research on invisible fencing and finally decided on this one. I really liked the ability to walk the perimeter to set the fence since our area is slow to update gps maps. Setting it up was a breeze. When I did have issues, customer service was very responsive and the advice worked. Since setting it up, containment has been completely secure and we trust it enough now that we can leave our dog outside when we run to town without worrying that he may follow us. He was already trained on an e-collar so converting to this system was a non-event.
The one thing I wish were better is the cellular service. We have very strong AT&T signal out here but there are still many times that the collar says it doesn’t have service. That means I can’t track him, but since the containment isn’t effected by this, it’s not a deal breaker. I just wish it were better. The collar is also pretty bulky and quite pricey. I do think the steep price tag has been worth it, though. And while it is bulky, it does seem sturdy and able to hold up to a very active bird dog. All in all I am very happy with the investment and would recommend for a situation like ours. It’s a perfect fit for our type of property. It’s giving our dog freedom and keeping us in good standing with our neighbors!

We have a very intelligent and very stubborn Afghan hound. This collar has brought him into being a dog that loves his yard and gladly stays in it, like a place of comfort. Easy to set up anywhere, easy to operate and a customer service that is basically unheard of.
Thanks Spot On

I live where fences are not allowed. I covered my 1 acre property with a spoton fence and it has worked very well. My dog has not once left the perimeter and responded quickly to training. A couple of things you might consider. Think about integrating the device into a harness type collar. That way, the tacking device will stay on top of the harness and not shift like on the standard collar. It might also reduce the complaint of it being klunky or too big. Also, add a loop on the collar to take care of excess slack. My pooch was between medium and large, so the excess collar material was quite long. A loop will help secure that. We used a small piece of velcro strip to create our own. Great product. Thanks

Absolutely amazing results! Works as advertised with little to no learning curve. Customer service is great as well. They sent out replacement probes free of charge after I failed to tighten one more than hand tight. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to allow their pet freedom without the expense of a physical fence. The Create a Map feature also is great if you travel with your pet as well.
