Hi. I’m Charley. I live on an **11-acre paradise** and before SpotOn, I *thought* I owned all of it. Turns out… there are “lines.” Invisible ones. Rude.
That said, the SpotOn Invisible Fence has been pretty amazing. I can roam the entire property freely—fields, trees, secret sniffing zones—while still being reminded (politely, I might add) not to visit the neighbors uninvited.
I spend my days **chasing birds, deer, and squirrels** (who are clearly trespassing). When I get close to the edge, SpotOn gives me a heads-up. No digging, no wires, no fences blocking my majestic sprint—just gentle reminders that freedom has boundaries.
Do I still *want* to chase the deer into the next county? Yes.
Do I respect the fence? Also yes.
My humans are happy, the wildlife is mostly safe, and I still get to patrol all 11 acres like the good dog I am.
Five paws up. Would recommend.

We have about 60 acres. She is free to roam and chase rabbits. Always know where she is and she has learned the system boundaries in about two weeks. Love it.

We live on an 1 1/2 acres of unfenced property.
At first we were leary of the Spot On system but it has turned out to be the best investment we could have made! Riley learned quickly and stays in her yard - doesn’t even leave to chase deer or another dog!
Highly recommend!

We live on a busy road with lots of other farm critters in neighboring properties. Border training was non-negotiable for us. We also have heavy tree coverage. Static collars don’t work, and GPS alone does nothing if your dogs already in the road. SpotOn was the best thing to happen to our neighborhood!! Not only do our dogs use it, all of our neighbors now also use it. We have fences for each others yards when we have doggy play dates. It’s wonderful! Our dogs are truly border trained, safe, and we couldn’t be happier.

I have 3 Great Pyrenes that work as LGD's for 150 sheep and cattle on 125 acres. We were having a few issues with them leaving about 2-3 times a week through the night due to a heavy predator load surrounding us (bobcats and coyotes). They respected fences but found a few weak spots in the perimeter fence or gates. Battery life is about 36 hours but I do have to charge them daily to ensure no lapses in dead collars - they charge very quickly. I did not do much training as they picked up very quickly. They stay about 10 feet away from the perimeter fence now and have not had any escapes in about 3-4 weeks.

It has now been 4 weeks since I started to use this collar with my 6 month old Springer. I found that walking the perimeter was the best way to make the fence but further adjustment of the boundary was quite fiddly and I wouldn't recommend doing it in the cold! Initially I tried introducing her to the boundary without flagging but she didn't seem to get it. Once I added flagging she instantly understood what I was trying to teach her. I haven't needed to use the shock option of the collar. I removed some flagging after about a week to place it on other parts of the property (I have 11 acres) but the learning endured. I've used customer service once and they were helpful. Overall, this is a wonderful product made in America and cheap when you compare it to the value of your best friend.

This is our second collar for a new addition to our family. The system works great and customer service is excellent. Any issue was resolved quickly and totally to our satisfaction!! Thank you.

First evening out with Oliver's new Spoton collar! I can't say enough good things! He was so relaxed he just sat in the snow so I took this picture! Thank you for keeping him safe and giving me even more enjoyment outside with him!

We recently adopted a 12 month old American pit bull terrier mix and wanted her to be able to roam our 3 acre property. The SpotOn collar has worked great. She broke through the “fence” once or twice chasing deer but now she’s very respectful of her boundaries. The training was quick and easy and the satellite reception seems solid. Glad I bought the system.

I thought I would have to re-home our very stubborn hound dog to prevent her from being run over or taken. I was skeptical that her stubbornness would render the system useless. I am so thrilled that I was wrong! We have a lot of outbuildings on the property that when she is behind them makes it hard to keep up with her. The tracking capability has saved me a lot of time and effort when figuring out where she is.

We have 30 acres in Northern Michigan and have two Wirehaired Pointing Griffon pups. They are 6 mo old now and have been using the collars for a month. This is an awesome product! It took about 3 days to train the dogs. We have only used the vibrate feature so far as it is working! We will see how that goes when the spring bunnies arrive. We have only used one map so far with a home zone. We are headed to friends this weekend and are planning on seeing how it works there. We do have the subscription and it is an awesome product. Dogs are free to roam and explore while we actually get some tasks done and can track them on the phone in real time. Thank you for helping us keep our dogs safe.
Rebecca G.
When we got our pup Tuck,we had to constantly walk him or put him on a line. As we live on 3 wooded acres and a fence wasn't an option ,Spot On was the perfect solution! Training took about a week and customer service was excellent with any questions we had.
We are all very happy now. Tuck gets to explore and be a dog and we don't have to worry.

The spot on collar along with their app works really well. In a rural area with poor internet service the tracking doesn't work well. So probably shouldn't bother paying for it. I would suggest that after your area is layed out and you begin to test your collar, place blue flags at the first beep around the whole perimeter. This gives your dog a visual along with a beep as you train. I was able to train my pup in a 1 acre area in 2 days. (Because he is a pup, he likes to snatch the flags and bring them to the porch) less work for me but he absolutely respects the fence signals as well as the fence. All In all a much easier system than a buried wire. Also like the fact I can set up multiple fences on my farm. When I want him along I can take him into another fenced area without worring about him running off. Great system my collar on full charge will last a full 12 hour day.

I love the collar itself. The company however needs to refine the design to include access to the battery. I had this collar for 16 months and it stopped working. After much remote support it was deemed the product needed to be shipped back to Spot-on for work. The issue I had here was they charge you for the shipping ~$40 and 2-3 week lead time. Support was good but for a $1500 product, not including subscription fees, it felt like Id rather fix it myself. I have experience in fixing electronics and so i tore the collar apart to identify that it was the battery that went bad. The battery replacement was $7. This product would be exponentially better if the battery was easily accessible and could be replaced. Currently, this is not the case. Overall great product. May not buy again simply due to the price tag and lack of battery access. These batteries are going to be the first thing to fail.

As a puppy, Sheena was proving to be a challenge. Due to the nature of her breed, she was a roamer forcing us to either put her in a pen and tie her up. Those options did not seem fair to Sheena. Purchasing the Spot On was a game changer. Sheena learned the boundaries quick and now has free roam of 10 acres. She loves the freedom and we love the peace of mind. We highly recommend Spot On.

The dog collars were working fine for a while. Earlier though, the dogs ran out of bounds and let's just call it a bloody mess. You would not believe what a mess it did to our dog's neck. It started shocking and wouldn't stop! I wish there was a zero star option. Unbelievable!

We are so happy to have purchased SpotOn. We use it on our 20 acres in the mountains and when traveling. This company has THE BEST customer service I have ever dealt with. They answer your questions immediately and follow up with you. I highly recommend the collar.

I don’t normally leave reviews on products but this collar has been great to use. Also I pay the yearly subscription so I am able to track her in the yard or when we go for walks and she is off leash definitely worth the money. The customer service is awesome anytime I’ve had an issue they have been extremely helpful and friendly.I would also like to note that I have a neighbor who uses a different gps collar and needless to say his dog is always in everyone’s yard.So to anyone looking to get a gps collar for their dog this is the collar .

We got our Anatolian Pyrenees, Doc when his Dad, Aero was three, and quickly realized his personality would require more attention with regards to boarders. While he was never one to bolt without reason, making sure he never left our small farm to challenge dogs being walked on our road was very important. After nearly two and a half years, thanks to SpotOn, careful training, and the right dogs, Doc is content to work within his boundaries and never leaves our partially fenced property on his own. Even our goats have borrowed the collar and learned to respect the fence programmed for them. Using SpotOn for tracking on hikes is a wonderful bonus.

I love these collars. Two labs and a Schnauzer use them. Setup and use is very intuitive. The ability to load and save different maps is awesome. We have three collars and the mess on the counter with all the cords and collars had to get cleaned up. Here’s what I did.

It has been amazing ,,, definitely easy and has been out standing no issues. It is probably one of the best products and companies in the United States ,like products and companies of the past this out fit is leading the way ,it is pricey but you can not put a price on a family member ,a loved one and it is flawless ....thank you ,,no regrets and extremely happy customer for life

Mr. Benson is a rescued Bloodhound who lives a curious life as a seven month old puppy. We have a large yard and a farm that I use the collar for both places. It’s perfect. No cut lines to worry about plus the ability to go to other places. The farm is 150 acres. The most important point is SpotOn is spot on with customer service. If nothing else, I would choose SpotOn because of their support in teaching you about the collar and the eco system it works in. BTW…I rarely leave reviews but this company deserves the effort.

Poor service and not worth the money. I live on 10 acres and clear cut 3 of the acres just so this fence system would track better and yet my dogs can be standing right in front of me with good cell service to my phone and the collar and yet the system says it can’t connect to collar possibly due to low cell connection….not true. Furthermore the system is constantly telling me my dog has escaped when he is laying on the deck or in the yard and he gets a correction for no reason…this happens a lot more than it should. I had reached out to customer support but they told me nothing more than I had already done with my system. Even after clear cutting the unpredictability of the collars means I cannot put my trust in the system. That’s a lot of money to spend for so much uncertainty. I have owned this system, I think close to 2 years. I would not recommend this product based on my experience and this is for 2 dogs and 2 collars and same problems with both collars. Not impressed. Further more the collar clasps come undone all the time since they are an easy to escape design (especially if you have 2 dogs romping). One already broke and I never sent for a new part to fix it because I refuse to waste more money on the system. The remaining collar I do still use occasionally and I continue to have issues with it.
I live in the mountains of Alaska and although it is fairly dense woods its not that thick and like I said…3 acres completely clear cut and still the collar misreads all the time and corrects my dogs unprovoked. Nope, I do NOT recommend…I would look into other systems that are not this expensive.

I would not wanna own a dog, especially me having 7 acres without the spot on collar. Spot on color is a well built collar to me. It’s worth every penny I spent. He is so well trained. If I leave the collar off of him, he still will not go near the containment line money well spent.

Love it -love it -love it!!! This is my second collar, for dog #2 and they are both in the training stage right now- and it is SO EASY! They are picking up on it very quickly with just the sound warning. You can turn off the static correction if they do not need it! WELL worth the money not to have a subscription to be able to use it!!! THANKS SPOT ON!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had an in-ground electric fence for 15 years. It worked but required a $300/year maintenance agreement to handle the frequent breaks that had to be repaired. The batteries were not cheap either.
Spot-On has been fantastic for our latest rescue, Clifford. He's big, strong-willed, and follows his nose. After two weeks of training and tweaking collar settings, he adapted to his boundaries and loves running free around four acres of our property. He is a happy dog, and the Spot-On system is part of his joyful new life.

First, is the outstanding customer service! From my initial questions about a purchase, through out the set up and dealing with having to get a replacement collar (Lilly chewed through Sky's battery covering), the representatives have given me all the time I needed or still need.
The whistle and call feature has been the best for me. I researched and I am totally satisfied with SpotOn. 10.5 acres and I do not worry any more, do not wait, this is the one you will not regret getting. Thanks SpotOn

After 6 days of training for 15 minutes per day my 5-month-old Lab picked it up right away. Yes, I did shock him at the 15 setting because he's a high energy dog. I backed it down to 10 but he doesn't even test it anymore. He knows his boundary on our 3-acre property. My family loves it. I highly recommend SpotOn!!!

I have really appreciated the comfort i am awarded by having my furry friend Kaiser monitored with the spot-on leash. It has allowed him and i more freedom around the neighborhood.
The collar can run down if it is in tracking mode for an extended period of time. It is easy to turn off tracking.
I do like the ability to change the gps fences easily when I travel with my dog.
Occasionally I have had to call customer service if I was having trouble with my collar and they have been very helpful.
Having correction available works well when Kaiser seems to be too busy to listen.

These collars are the next best thing to sliced bread! We are 2 seniors in our 70s, and raising 2 4-legged juvenile delinquents - a 2-year-9-month-old Cairn Terror (Terrier) and an 18-month-old Labradoodle mix. Both kids are spoiled, don't listen, and used to run footloose and fancy-free through our 1/2-acre property, chasing all sorts of critters and visiting the neighbors, which annoyed the heck out of them. So, it became a situation of "enough is enough" - complaints that is. We have one collar with tracking and one without, as both kids are always together. FINALLY!! Peace finally reigns in the neighborhood - neighbors now love our dogs. The collars work perfectly, and if you have issues setting them up, Customer Service is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Best investment EVER!!!

Chino is a standard Poodle, we adopted him last December. He turned 3 in August and loves the outdoors. We have an abundance of squirrels where we live and Chino loves chasing them up trees. He doesn’t catch them, just chases having a blast. Sometimes he would go way too far, always came back or I would always catch him. We tried 3 or 4 of the other collars before going with Spot On, wish we would have went with Spot On initially. It hasn’t been easy but we’ve made a lot of progress in the few weeks we’ve had the collar. It’s going very well and we highly recommend Spot On over any competition out there.

The collars work great!! My only suggestion would be to put an iridescent strip on the collar to make it more visible. Customer service has been of great help and extremely accommodating.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this collar deserves it. It just works. My dog figured it out within a week, and now I have peace of mind knowing she stays safely away from the road and out of the neighbor’s yard. She still has two acres to roam and play, and I know she’s safe. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent product. However what we didn't realize until we began to use it was, our dog has started losing his hearing. This has brought some challenges our way for the training part because he can't hear the warning beeps and all he knows next is static correction. I've been meaning to reach out to the company to see if there is a vibrational setting to take the place of the beeps so he can tell when he's in the warning zone. Thanks

Best investment we made to keep our Archie safe while he explores the property!!!

Excellent Product! The peace-of-mind that this collar offers pet owners is priceless. The customer service team is without question, top notch. Thank you SpotOn for making such a great product, offering professional customer service and giving pet owners peace knowing that their pets are being monitored and kept safe. We recommend you to all our friends and family.

Buying this as a gift? Please read this review before you do.I love this product but it has its downfalls. What I love is it gives my dog the freedom to be off the leash on my property without me standing right there. This allows my dog the opportunity to spend more time being active and outside. The problem I see with it, is it is not an equitable option for every dog owner. I received this item as a gift and have been using it for over a year - I have two collars, one for each of my dogs. Recently the battery came loose inside the collar ( the collar is intact with no damage to the exterior of the collar). This is not an issue of the dog being too rough on the collar, it is an issue of the adhesive that holds the battery in place (in the enclosed compartment) failing. SpotOn will not provide me with any options to fix it unless I can provide them with the original receipt (in fact they will only allow the original purchaser to show proof of purchase, that person must return and provide payment for any fix options, and then receive the return back to the original purchaser). When I say no fix options I mean they have not even given an option to pay for a fix. If I didn't buy it then I am not permitted any service. So I currently have a $900 collar that I cannot use because I am not going to ask my gifter to return this on my behalf. I have provided SpotOn with the original ID code and pictures of the original box and they should be able to see when I registered it. I would even guess that they are able to see when and where my item was bought. I personally think SpotOn has the best collar out there but ultimately the battery will fail and without being able to replace or fix it, the product becomes exorbitantly expensive. In addition to not providing support for collars that are gifted I have read on their website that they will only support a fix one time. So if your collar were to break (as mine did) or if the battery dies (which it eventually will), I guess is you will find yourself in the same boat as I do (purchasing an new collar $900 or doing without). I hope this review helps you to purchase wisely.

Works about 70% of the time in ideal conditions. But clouds, trees, uneven terrain that falls off to 30-40% if that.
Customer support stonewalls you, if you try their "money back guarantee "
Bought 3, almost $5k cdn. Would never reccomend for country properties or any dog bigger than a chihuahua.

The very little problems I have encountered has always been remedied with in 24 hours. That means a lot. My girl now is also able to be off leash with me her in the yard. I believe this is because the collar gives her the freedom she needs when necessary to let her be a dog. And she has no need to expend her pent up energy when she doesn’t have the collar on. However I always without fail use the collar when I may be outside and distracted with outdoor activities. Tha tracking function is a stress reliever for me!

Unless you have excellent cellular reception and a large piece of property I’d save your money. I’ve had the SpotOn collar for over a year and this is an honest review of our experience. Initially it worked well, however over time our dog began to be afraid to leave the house. We found that the gps had shifted over time close to 20 ft and was giving him false corrections just randomly during the day as he was sitting next to us in the house. After updating the collar, moving boundaries, and needing to retrain the boundary lines all was good, for a while. Same issues repeated a second time.
Fast forward to this past week the dog is staying at a relatives while we are out of town. This person has 8 acres for the pup to roam however he is getting false corrections again while sitting in their house. He’s now afraid to go outside and has started getting aggressive thinking the relative is correcting him. SpotOn says it’s the metal roof interfering and giving false corrections even with a safe zone established.
The collar also needs to be within range to load the setting changes to the collar, that’s hard to do when I’m 1200 miles away. Teaching someone how to log into my account or sending an invite is difficult over the phone.
I believe this collar could be great if it could be more reliable with the gps and the ability to make changes via cellular connections. However with my experiences it was a waste of $900+. Which is a bummer because I really wanted this product to work.

After our other dog passed we got a chocolate lab pup. The collar was a little big at first but with a small collar strap it worked well enough. We took our time training Bosco giving him several weeks on just tones then added vibrations and when his neck was larger a low level stimulation. He knows his boundaries and has not escaped since. The beauty of this collar is the training transfers to other locations easily. We have a lake house and he learned that fence within a few days. We give him some room in the lake so he can swim and it has no effect on the collar. We do a lot of camping and look forward to taking this collar along for temporary containment.

This collar made our lives so much better!! My husband and I live on an acreage and adopted our 3 year old dog several months ago. Our dog Romeo came to us with pretty severe separation anxiety so he can’t stay in our house while we are away from home or he has accidents. Living on an acreage we don’t have a fenced in yard and of course Romeo likes to run away. After researching many different kinds of collars we decided on Spot On after reading so many amazing reviews. I was skeptical he would continue to run through the fence but within a week he was fully trained and hasn’t escaped since!! This collar has mad both ours and Romeo’s lives a lot better now he gets to roam around 10 acres without us having to worry about him running away. 10/10 recommend this collar.

We almost didn’t buy it because of the price but honestly worth every penny. Our dog Romeo loved to run away, as soon as he was off leash on our acreage he ran away. We finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase a spot on collar and after about 3 days of training he was off the leash and getting to utilize our 10 acres. We are very happy with how quick it worked and would recommend it to anyone.

Summary:
This is a well-built unit and accessories, with solid documentation, and elite Support Services. The setup and use of this unit are easy. For me with my heavily wooded lot, I could not achieve the operational consistency needed to fully trust the operation of this unit to keep my dog safely contained. The return process was swift and easy. My rating of a '3' reflects my view that this is a very good product, but just not feasible from an operational standpoint for my specific environment.
This unit is well worth a try for folks with clear or lightly wooded lots.
Details:
The physical product itself is ruggedly built, but very streamlined, with no protrusions to catch on anything nearby. The status lights are easy to see and understand. It is easy to assemble the electrodes with a choice of 2 different sizes. The charger and charging station are well built and easy to use. I would have liked some pre-drilled holes in the charging station, so that I could have attached it to a wall, rather than taking up flat table space.
Product documentation is solid, and Support Services are prompt and stellar. The written instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the video instructions are well composed and fully cover the intended topic.
Creation of the containment area is easy, and I used the 'walk it' method to establish my perimeter boundary. Seeing the full containment area on the phone app is very helpful. Being able to create a safe zone which encompasses my house within the containment area is a nice feature to ensure that nothing accidentally triggers the collar when the dog is inside the house.
The tracking feature could be very helpful if you have a large containment area. For me, I have very poor cellular service in my area, so I could not effectively use this feature, as it requires a solid cell tower connection. Also, note that a cellular usage subscription is required for this feature.
Solid and complete training is necessary to introduce the dog to the containment area, particularly if the dog has never been exposed to this type of containment environment. I performed this training religiously, but my dog still wanted to test the boundaries themselves, and this is where my issues with this collar started.
The 10-foot warning zone is much too narrow, IMO, as my dog starts running as soon as I let her out the door, and blows through the fence perimeter at top speed. She knows that the fence is there, and even knows that the correction feature turned on, but that does not deter her. Perhaps, with enough targeted training, I could train my dog to not bolt out the door and cross the fence perimeter at top speed.
I tested the perimeter myself daily, and I found inconsistencies in the presence of the perimeter itself. I could approach it, and the collar would issue an audible warning, and I would back off. If I approached the perimeter itself again, the collar would not necessarily issue an audible warning again. This issue was not just in one area of the fence perimeter, but it occurred continuously in several areas along the perimeter. In full transparency, I have a heavily wooded lot, and this probably contributes to the inconsistencies that I experienced.
The periodic shift in the perimeter line itself, presumably due to shifts in connected GPS satellites, caused my dog to suddenly get shocked, more than once, while we were performing training, again, IMO, due to the too-narrow 10-foot warning zone. This definitely impacted the effectiveness of the training.
After several days of trying to make this unit work for me and my dog, and I really wanted it to work out, I determined that this was not going to work out well for us, and I decided to return the unit.

I've been using the SpotOn dog collar for a while now, and I can't say enough good things about it! It has been a game-changer for us and our dog. The collar's GPS tracking feature works flawlessly, giving us peace of mind during our outdoor adventures.
The setup was straightforward, and the app is user-friendly, allowing us to customize settings easily. We've noticed that our dog seems more comfortable wearing it compared to previous collars, and it's held up well to all the rough-and-tumble play.
Overall, we love the SpotOn dog collar! It offers great functionality and reliability, making it an essential tool for our pet care routine. Highly recommend it to any dog owner looking for a quality collar!

I purchased a pair of spot on collars for my two golden doodles. It took me about a month of on and off training to feel comfortable to let my dogs out unsupervised. My dogs now run free on about 5 acres of my property and I love it. They are both under a year old and love to run. I purchased subscriptions to both, and it is so easy to use the app to check on them during the day. Just make sure the collars are securely latched when putting them on. While wrestling with each other one came off and the other dog chewed it beyond repair. Spot on promptly replaced it and now I make sure they latch securely. I highly recommend them!

I cannot speak highly enough of this company, collar & customer service! SpotOn changed our lives! We live on 10 acres of unfenced land. Our Brittany dog would run off 2-3 times a day until we trained him with the SpotOn collar (which took only 1 day since he was previously e-collar trained) he has not ran away once in over 1-1/2 years with this amazing collar. Also…HUGE perk…we are motorhome adventurers and I can set up a virtual fence around our motorhome in 30 seconds and know he is safe and won’t cross the boundary. We also use it when we visit our kids who don’t have fenced yards. I highly recommend this collar!

We've had an underground wired fence for our 10 acres for decades. Has worked on every dog we've ever had.....until George. George is a Maremma sheepdog and is the 3rd guardian dog we currently have and is the 7th dog on the property currently. He took to the underground fence great as a tiny pup but then as he matured into a hot headed 10 month old, he decided the adventure was worth the zap and off he went. We tried a different gps collar first but we do not have good cell coverage in our area so it was very inconsistent and therefore almost encouraged the wandering. We got a spot on collar. I was very skeptical. After over a month, I've gotta say, I'm impressed! It is very accurate and very consistent. I like that you can give the dog extra corrections if he is outside the boundary but if he is inside the boundary, it won't let you zap him manually. We did opt for the subscription and were thrilled with the military discount of a free year!.THANK YOU for supporting service members in this way! Also, tech support and training support is awesome and prompt. I love the GPS tracking feature and the activity map. I love the audible alerts and the real time tracking when he does leave, as well as the notification when he returns. I don't like the plastic buckles on the collar or really the way the collar fastens at all. They break and then the collar falls off the dog. I have currently modified mine with a buckle collar But I need to re do it. Because it's not very tight. I also don't like it that it refers to the dog nearing the boundary "escaped". If the dog is gone for 0.00 seconds and goes nowhere before it turns around,it hasn't escaped, it's simply reached the boundary! Overall - Awesome! I wish I could afford one for all my dogs!

Very expensive but well worth it. I’ve tried others and was very disappointed. Another key point is that’s American owned and manufactured.

The product itself and the tech support are both excellent. Our dog can run leash-free in our back and side yard and knows her boundries. Properly trained, she has never even experienced a jolt due to knowing by the tones wher/where to stop. I can't imagine having to take her out on a leash every time she needs to go out, not to mention the peace of mind with her never going near the road. I would recommend this product and company fully. Brian H in Pennsylvania.

I love the idea of this collar. I purchased this for our rat terrier and his neck is right at 10”. So my only complaint is I think it is a little too big for him… I hope one day SpotOn will figure out how to go a little smaller.

Spot on makes an excellent GPS wireless Dog Fence Collar. I have owned one for about four years now. Excellent product. I have experienced MANY issues with customer support. Spot On is a small company and sometimes they turn off their phones and you JUST CAN'T get through to them. The Demographics of their employees is young and sometimes they tend to have an attitude. They don't know who the paying customers are and act like paying customers owe them something. I just tried calling in for two days and cannot get through. I ended up buying a new Collar which was frustrating at $1000 a pop. Hopefully when and if I get a call back I'll be able to straighten this out. If you are looking for a new GPS fence this is a great product but be prepared for a horrible customer service experience.

My dog Moses is very head strong and a runner. I took a little extra time with training. 2 weeks before I was comfortable letting him off leash. From the start of being free he had stayed in the fence. The real test was going for the mail outside of the fence. Moses followed as usual but when I reached the fence and went beyond he stayed.
I have had a glitch or 2 were the fence didn't actuate at the boundary but Moses came when called. Over all I'm satisfied.

We have been with SpotOn since almost the beginning: we had a the old style and then upgraded to the new style. We have seen all the improvements and appreciate everything they put into this technology. They are extremely responsive. We could not live without these. We really couldn’t put an electronic fence on our property and this made it a reality for us. We travel and camp: we go to Canada/ our collar always comes with us and it always works. We cannot imagine life without it. Thank you for your support and making life easier for us!

Love this product. I am located in a rural area in Southern California on a 9.6 acres - half of which is improved and the rest is natural chaparral habitat. My property is fenced in with barbwires and my dog Frankie can easily cross over to chase birds. The gps collar gives him the freedom to run around the property and I don’t have to worry about losing track of him. Product works well. Customer service is also spectacular. Very responsive and helpful. I recommend this product and this company.

After a great deal of research I purchased my first Spot-on collar in April 2022 and my second collar in 2024. I have nothing but high praise for their collar and the customer care at Spot-on Fence.
These collars have performed as advertised and exceeded my expectations.
For convenience, I purchased extra charging ports so I can charge the collars from my vehicles and from various places on the property. I take the common sense approach, so whenever the dogs are with me in the vehicle, I put their collars on charge and place them on extended battery life. When I arrive at my destination and or back home, I almost always have 100% charge. I do the same thing at night when the dogs are unable to wander.
Regarding the cost, this is a case where you get what you pay for and they’re worth it. If you look into the technology that they put into these collars you’ll understand the cost. Furthermore, over the past several years, the company has continuously made improvements and upgrades to the collar into their customer care.
Their customer service is outstanding. The staff is polite and knowledgeable. If they don’t know something, they will put you on hold and ask someone.
Recently, I contacted customer care at 0915 in the morning on a Wednesday with a minor issue. After a 2 minute conversation the agent sent me an email instructing me to Email some photographs of the collar. In less than an hour I received an email that a decision had been made to replace the collar and an order had already been processed. I received the new collar the following Wednesday.
It simply doesn’t get much better than that. The people who manage Spot-on and their customer service personnel are doing a phenomenal job. The bottom line is they’re keeping my dogs safe and I am very grateful.
Thank you to the Spot-on team, keep up the good work.

We are so happy with this system. Jimmy was easy to train ! We love the app and how we can track him when he is outside. It provides us with such peace of mind as he had been exploring beyond our property and bothering neighbors. We have not had one phone about Jimmy since he started wearing the collar!!
Rick W.
Added a dog recently and of course a second collar. Training was quick and dogs reliably stay in the 9 acres inside the fence boundaries. Subscription lets me see where they are if they don’t. One out of woods when called. Maybe once a week I get a message of dog outside fence. Always shows out just a few seconds out of fence as correction reminds them of their travel limits.
Prior to getting fence my dog went off a 25’ bluff when playing rough at night with neighbor’s dog. Had to drive 70 miles to all night vet for treatment. Broken rib and lots of bruising. Neighbor dog not hurt quite as bad. Both have SpotOn collars now and don’t go near edge of bluff behind our houses.
One feature I would love to be changed is for the vibration to be a warning before shock. Vibration gets their attention but doesn’t bother them enough to keep them inside boundary. My dogs don’t hear the tone reliably and thus no warning before shock. I would even pay for an upgrade if needed.

I have been using the Spot On collar for two years now and recently had a normal wear and tear battery issue. I wrote a message through the chat option on the app and someone responded to me within minutes. Spot On was able to replace the collar for free within 1-2 weeks which I was extremely impressed by. I have had a couple other questions in the past and the costumer service has always been exceptional. This product has brought me so much piece of mind and works really well even in spotty cell service. It is well worth the cost when you have the support to help deal with any issues that may come up!

The collar is amazing.
I have 3 separate fences in 3 different locations and they all work perfectly.

I was a little skeptical about using Spot-On, but I have to say that I'm totally impressed with it. Daisy was already trained for a wired underground fence, so it didn't take long for her to get use to Spot-On. She did escape our 1 acre property one time, but I received an instant alert and was able to track where she had gone and where she was headed and picked her up and brought her back to the property. She has tested the boundaries several times but hasn't breached the boundaries after her one time. Other animals try to lure her off property, but she does know when to turn around.

Spot-On collar has met my expectations for a reliable, safe and affordable pet containment solution.
Very appreciative of the various new features that have trickled down over the years.
Keep up the great work!

Incredibly satisfied with this collar, especially with the tracking feature. Set-up was simple and the app is very user friendly. Training was a breeze and we’re just so happy to know our dog is protected. I love being able to let Winston loose in the yard, and know exactly where he is! He loves it even more as it means no leashes/ leads and he can roam around as he pleases.

I'm thrilled with the SpotOn collars for my dogs, Kona and Felipe. They're easy to use, reliable, and give them the freedom to explore safely. Highly recommend!

This fence is wonderful!
As a vet tech for many years. I seen far to many dogs hit by cars or facing other disasters from roaming unfenced.
SpotOn is simple to set up and use. Customer service is remarkable as well as a reminder that buying American is the only way to go! Whenever feasible, I buy from and invest in American Companies.
SpotOn is the embodiment of what this country once was and with any luck, will be again.
I was on vacation last summer and left my charger at home. SpotON immediately MAILED new charger to the address I was staying at. Now that's decent, that's a company that cares about it's customers, that's American service. I love the folks at SpotOn. Don't waste your time on any other fence system for your beloved dog.

We purchased the spot on fence directly from the company over the summer. We have 12 1/2 acres and a very large mastiff mix dog who needed to be able to run. Set up was a little difficult at first, but once my husband figured it out, he says it should be no problem if we ever want to take away any space or expand. Due to his size, we were a little worried that he’d feel the little zap and run through the fence anyway, but he learned quickly. You can tell how much he wants to follow us down the driveway which we don’t allow, he stands and waits patiently for us to come back to the safe zone! My husband only had to walk him around the yard a few times before he got the hang of it.
Hank gets so excited when he sees us pull the collar out because he knows it’s his time to be able to run around with no restrictions!
We recently lost one of the nodes and called customer service and they replaced it no charge because we were within warranty and purchased directly from the company. Best investment we ever made!

SpotOn has literally been a life saver for our fur baby! Living close to a busy road is not dog friendly. We thought about a traditional fence, but very impractical and expensive at the same time. We tried the wired type containment systems, but one of our dogs quickly learned he could just run past the buried wire to get past it and then would sit on the other side of the wire when he decided to come home. Plus, gophers would chew through the wire, fun to try and find the broken spot. Other types are too limiting on the dogs range, such as the transmitting type. All that aside, SpotOn was the best choice for our situation and has kept our girl contained. Even when playing fetch, which she absolutely loves, she will not go after the ball should it cross the boundary, she just sits and waits for us to go get it for her. Nothing has tempted her to cross the boundary, whether it be another dog, cat, person or even if my wife and I should decide to go for a walk, she stays put. We have used spot on since she was just a pup, a few years have gone by since then and recently we had an issue with our collar, SpotOn customer service was so quick to respond and resolve our issue, quite a pleasant experience! I cannot recommend a SpotOn collar enough! Top notch all the way around! No monthly fees, unless you want to track your pup as it roams around within its boundary. There is a minimum sized area recommendation so be sure to check your needs. On the flip side, you can create a HUGE play area for your fur baby to roam and explore safely. Collar setup could not be easier, simply charge your new collar, connect to your phones(s) blue tooth and draw your boundary map on your phones screen. SpotOn also allows for portability of the collar, we have fences set up at our daughters house and at the inlaws which can be selected on the SpotOn app. Word of caution! Take the collar off before you take your pup outside of the boundary! There is almost no distance limit to the correctional stimulus you have selected once outside of the boundary you created. Been there done that! Good thing she is forgiving! Again, you can't go wrong with SpotOn!
