I absolutely love our Spot On collar for our pup! We live in the country and he was getting in the road, on other people’s property. Just getting too far from home for my comfort! We got our collar and it has been working great! He stays on our property and still has plenty of room to roam. I love how easy it was to set up the geofence too!! It has been a blessing and I feel much more secure knowing he is on our property, not in the road or at the neighbors!! Thank you guys!!

For the most part it works fine on my heavenly wooded property. There does tend to be a slight lag in the notifications when my dog goes through the boundy. And I'm not sure he's getting the alerts. Would also like clearer instructions on how to fit the collar. My Australian Shepherd does not have a heavy coat around his neck so I used the shorter prongs as the longer ones seem to dig in to his neck too much. With that said, I don't think he gets his static correction when needed. Would really like to see videos instructions on collar fitting for different dog breeds and coats.

Started using right at 6 months of age… Booker was between collar sizes, but went with the large, he has increased collar sizing one notch since wearing it and this seems to have been the right decision. Have traveled to 2 different locations and made new perimeters. Walked the perimeter with him, but the tone of the collar already sends him a clear message and he understands his boundaries. Had an issue with the charger that was quickly resolved with a phone call. So far, no regrets.
Brian .
Love this collar. Gives them and me worry free play time while there are out and about.
Brian .
Play time with out the worry on 10 acres. They have so much more freedom.

I absolutely love my Spot On collar. I don’t ever have to worry about my Great Pyrenees, Tess wondering beyond her “fence”. I would 100 percent recommend Spot On Collars to anyone, but especially to any owner of a LGD, as they are known for wondering and/or escaping. Mine has only left her fence a few times and always immediately crosses right back into her safe zone.

LOVE SpotOn! We moved from a 1 acre property in town to a 28 acre property in the country. It took our Luna, a German Shepherd, about a day to learn and understand her boundaries. She is absolutely loving her new found freedom! And, I think she likes knowing what is "her" territory to patrol too!

The 15 year old Red Bone Coon Hound has now turned from his Cinnamon color to having white legs and face. He gets a little lost at times so this collar is a blessing to see with the tracking mode where he is located so that we can get him if necessary. I will admit I cried one night when I had no idea where he was and finally at 10:30 PM he showed up. I had imagined he was in trouble but had no clue where he might be. NOW I know exactly where he is and if walking around and at what location. The Cattle Dog Poppy with his ball minds very well to obey the fence because I have the static set at 7 and he will NOT go near whit the alarm.
Works very well in our heavy tree property.
MONEY very well spent !
Regards, Larry S.

Absolutely fantastic. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Works as advertised! Much better than the Halo collar we tried first. Well worth the money.

Absolutely love this collar. Our dog is so happy now that she can play outside without us constantly hovering.

We were lucky to get Jed, a Great Pyrenees, about 6 months ago (he was 1 ½) from a farm where he was great with all their animals except the chickens. Big problem for a farmer so they needed to re-home him. Our place is about six acres positioned on a country road where folks drive fast. Keeping our pets away from the road is obviously a huge priority. About half of the six acres is protected with Invisible Fence (IF); we've had them for years. We’ve always been really happy with IF but with such a big dog, especially a Pyr, we wanted to expand the area and be able to track him. Pyrs are wanderers and it was essential we had tracking. Jed respected the IF pretty well but SpotOn was a game changer. We used the same white flags from IF to show him the new borders since he was familiar with them plus I thought a visual cue wouldn’t hurt! We started with the audible correction then had to move to static correction because of a couple of breaches. Had to up the sensation to 20 to get complete clarity on where he belonged. Haven’t had a problem since! Using the app to make changes is so convenient. With IF, it always required help from a rep (either a house visit with a charge or a trip to their office). I can do it all from my phone now! I was nervous about using an invisible fence with him because so many people say they don’t work with Great Pyrenees because of their independent natures but we couldn’t be happier. Having the ability to see where he is at all times is a huge bonus! He is in the house mostly, especially with the hot weather, but as the days cool he’ll be outside when we’re gone. Battery life has never been a problem; we charge at night.
The Keep Out Zone was a huge bonus feature for us! We have Muscovy ducks that Jed will chase so having the ability to create this "fence within the fence" was really nice!! Initial set-up of the fence was surprisingly easy — I opted to walk the perimeter then made the adjustments I needed. Super easy!!! Love that I had plenty of fence posts to use — some satellite collars limit you to 20 or so. We have lots of wooded areas and reception has not been a problem, thankfully.
This product was worth every penny! I struggled spending that much but with the generous return policy & guarantee, I thought I’d give it a try. So happy I did! Lots of peace of mind.

Our dog Bullet loves his collar. He actually sits and waits for me to put it on before he goes out. We used to have to stand in the yard and yell for him if he was out of sight. Now he knows his boundaries and we can just check our phones to see where he is. When we hike a trail without the fence we still use the collar because if he gets out of sight we just use the ‘whistle button’ on our phone to call him back to us. This took very little training before Bullet learned his boundaries. The unlimited free calls to the company for help are amazing and I took advantage of the free half hour call with a dog trainer and received lots of great instruction. Thank you Spot On for making an amazing product and for providing excellent customer service!

I am currently impressed with this collar. I have 3 dogs to manage and after a day of training I feel like I hear the alert tones non stop! I would like to add that anyone looking at purchasing these collars please understand your training your dog to the alert tones not the boundary. Using a headphone during training allowed me to hear the tone while also making sure my dog wasn’t getting used to my phone making the alert tones. Also refrain from doing any verbal encouragement when the alert sound is made. Turn and quietly guide your dog back into safe zone and then praise. You won’t be out there so you don’t want to have your dog trained to your encouragement rather than the alert tones. Also after a few days switch to a long line and allow your dog to make the decisions while also teaching themselves about the second alert tone and vibration. Even if your dog sits and the alert tone is going off for 10 mins just observe because as long as they come back that’s still a win! Depending on the situation maybe need to go back and work more on a 6 ft leash. Anyway just some tips that hopefully might help someone out!

My puppy Blessing is not trained but a few minutes showing her around the boundaries she caught on quick and now I don’t really have to use the spot on collar but I do just for security. Thanks so much and I’m so glad I purchased it

It has been about a month that we have been using these collars. We live on a 625 acre ranch in Wyoming and have been worried they would continue their adventures on other ranches - where they could be shot being around other peoples cattle. So this was our last ditch effort to keep them home. It did not take long to train them to stay home - like a few days. What a HUGE relief! It has been many years of trying many things, since we generally have lots of snow, fencing doesn't work (and to expensive), underground didn't work at all, and many other issues stopped us from success. It works well even in areas with no service! We are very happy. The dogs - not so much, as they can't roam as they once did over 10-15 miles in radius. THANK YOU Spot On!!!

Freedom!!!
Love this collar. Before we had him tied up in the back yard and he hated it. So easy to set up with the app and drawing the fence.
Does take some training and we worked hard on it for a couple of weeks. Now he has total freedom of the yard!
We then took it to the lake with us and after showing him the boundaries again- total freedom.
Battery life is great as will wear it all day and will have 70% battery life still.
Would recommend to anyone!
John W.
Spot On allow my dog freedom to use our property! They have provided great service for any problems. Would recommend!

35 acres, Gt Pyr/ Golden Retriever mix, predominately Gt. Pyr. 4years we've had her, a rescue. Wanders off, never comes back on own. Neighbors call,,,"Harlows here",,,,motorists stop, read her tags, they call,,we go get her,,,we go look for her/find her, bring her home. Any how,,,6 or 7 months now,,,,Spot on has been great! Kick myself for not doing it sooner. Waaaay less stress. She stays home. Third day on it, out for a walk, red fox dashes across pasture,,,,i see the Big Fluffy Yellow on a mad dash,,,,she reaches the fence zone, slams on the breaks, turns around.
We have the tracking through a monthly fee, cell phone, NOT gps,,,it sucks as much as our cell service. ( No surprise, not Spot ons fault.) Any way, its great! Battery lasts as long as advertised., 12/14 hours daily. Great product, worth the money. THX SPOT ON!!
Jeffrey L.
Could not be happier with this collar. Truly is spot on and accurate. Created my digital fence and can locate my dog within that perimeter every time. There is an old saying…not as used today and in the era of price price price….you get what you pay for. Not an inexpensive product but personally I would rather pay more for a product that works all of the time over something less expensive that works part of time. Especially when it comes to safety and well being of my pet. You will not be disappointed with this product.
Jill S.
We live in a wooded area and a dead zone of cell service. I was nervous it wouldn’t be consistent, but it has. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I think it was well worth the price!
Cheryl N.
We have 10 acres of unfenced property. Koda, being young, was always tethered or leashed on the property. We used the SpotOn collar for the first time this week and he had a blast exploring the property with his older brother Bullet. After only a week of prior training he did great. Needless to say, both dogs slept well.
Edward S.
This has been the best thing we purchased for our bird dog. We can let him out on the property and no longer have to worry about him going over to our neighbors that have free range chickens. Love this product.

Love letting Gracie run off leash! We got this collar when moving in with my mom, who has a large unfenced property. It's nice to be able to let Gracie out and explore while knowing she's safe from the road and orchard dangers. Training was simple and the videos provided were easy too follow. Gracie picked it up quickly. I also love the ease of setting up new fences when we go visit family with unfenced yards.
Amy J.
Love this collar system! We live on 25 acres, unfenced. This collar keeps our Pyr/Anatolian on our property safely. It was very easy to train him to stay within our borders-even though this breed can be notoriously stubborn with boundaries. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an alternative to under ground fencing on large property areas.
Marina J.
We’ve had these collars for 2 years. We had a battery issue within one year, and Spot On replaced both collars, no questions asked. The customer service is outstanding, I recently had to send a collar in because it had stopped charging, it was the battery, they quickly replaced it and we had it back in no time. I will add, I don’t feel like Spot On has a battery issue. My dog has an escape issue. When we initially bought the collars I had the cellular plan on both, one dog trained really easily. The other one not so much. I recently had to send a collar in to have the battery replaced. Spot On was kind enough to switch the cellular plan over to the other collar so I could keep my out of control dog in control. They deserve 10 stars. The collars aren’t cheap but they are worth every penny to keep your fur baby safe.

I'm in complete awe with this product. I will never recommend another product, after having used the spot on gps fencing collar. If you want a piece of mind for your own sanity, to know that your dog is staying on property, all while being able to see exactly where they are, then this product is for you. Not only is the customer service impeccable, but the product is incredibly user friendly! Hands down number one in my books.
Mark H.
Sulley is free to roam 3 acres and I'm free to not follow him.

I am so happy with SpotOn. After doing a bunch of research it was clear that one product was superior to all other wireless dog collars. So I decided to buy 2 collars for our 2 fur babies and I could not be happier!! The collars are durable and amazingly accurate when it comes to the fence line. Thank you for such an amazing product. Moxie and Romeo say thank you too.
Hillary B.
SpotOn works better than other products we've tried. Our dog doesn't typically leave the yard, but learning that the gravel driveway is not the same as the gravel road wasn't as easy to learn as he has everything else. Also, as a hunting breed dog, sometimes the nose turns on and the ears turn off. SpotOn keeps him safely on our 42 acre farm, without reprimanding him for being in the house or shop (a competition product did, a LOT). And we can still travel and set up safe spaces, even while camping.
Charles S.
We discovered some damage to our Corso's collar and have been trying to limp along with replacing it. I reached out to the company this morning and within 25 minutes the entire situation had been resolved. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. I will always recommend this product to other dog families.
Heth M.
The collar worked great for 8 months and then it had problems with collar connections. Probably half of the time it can’t connect to the collar which means no tracking or notifications. This makes it pretty useless. I live in a rural area so it’s not quite as critical but if you live near a busy road you could have a serious problem. I have referred people in the past but never again. My daughter visits with a different brand of collar and doesn’t seem to have these issues.
Michael W.
The Bluetooth never worked well. It takes 45 minutes of trying to connect. There is rattling noise in the collar that started after about 6 months. Tech support was not surprised to hear this. The battery life has diminished to less than an hour. Ultimately, it won’t turn on. The unit is only two years old. I expect longer life from a thousand dollar item. I will never buy their product again.
Robert E.
I would have given Spoton five stars had it not been for the cell coverage. It lets me down eight of ten times even in open areas. During initial training and reinforcement training of my one-year old dog, Kiah, she pulled back on the leash as I take her within two yards of the fence. Without the leash, wearing the collar, she goes through a fence over and over. Spoton will track her fine until she gets to a fence then manual feedback only stops her from going through the fence two out of ten times. I've lost her on a walk (once in open field and once in trees) and the app didn't locate her either time. Frustrating!
mieke r.
We have been very happy with the results after some intense training. It took a little while for her to totally get it, but now she never crosses the boundary and we can basically rely on the sound and vibration warning only.
The only down-side is that due to the GPS connection the boundaries can differ so much, which at times confuses her, because all of a sudden her safe area has gotten smaller.
But we have learned to work with it and overall are very pleased. Besides all that, the support has been very helpful and personable.
Curt N.
The customer service received has been excellent. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Patty R.
The collar is working out well for us. Our dog can go outside without the leash and look around for awhile and come back in without any issues. She has caught on quickly to the sound alerts. We were just talking about how the collar was worth the money it cost. Also, it's reassuring to know that (if problems were to occur) we could use GPS to find her.

over the last couple years we haven purchased our original and after some back and forth about warranty issues we had to purchase a refurbished unit. well now that unit failed and the answer i got from spot on was, "we don't support that generation anymore you can purchase a new unit here"
Spent a lot boo money with them and really never satisfied with the product and especially support.
Benjamin R.
Not only does it work great but the customer service is also tremendous. After a year of use I had an issue with it working. While working with them to get it fixed, my wonderful neighbor decided to take matters in his own hands and just destroy the thing. SpotOn just went ahead and replaced it for me. While some may be cheaper I doubt you will get that kind of service.
Jared M.
Had nothing but issues with false corrections, not making tones, not being alerted when he got outside the boundary. They kept trying things to get me to fix the problem. Then my warranty ran out and I was so fed up I paid $1,400 for an in ground fence. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone
Anita B.
Piper had been trained using a vibration and brief shock if she went out of bounds before, but that system always relied on either my husband or I to have the control in hand. It meant we had to have eyes on her all the time and working on a farm doesn't always allow for that type of monitoring. When I had questions, I was able to get the answers quickly and setting up the boundary lines was fairly easy. Now, she can go out and we know where she is and how far she has gone. A real game changer!
Sarah H.
We couldn’t be happier with our SpotOn collar! Our dogs caught on to the boundaries surprisingly fast, and it’s been amazing how well they stay within the set area. The training process was straightforward, and the app made setup super easy.
It’s brought us so much peace of mind knowing our pups are safe without needing a physical fence. We can relax while they roam the yard and even take the system with us when we travel. Absolutely worth the investment!
Cathy .
We were worried that our adult rescue would have such a strong prey instinct she would not respect the fence. After about 10 days of training she is able to run like a wild thing but still remain within the boundary. The best thing is, it also works “upta camp”! With SpotOn she is living her best life!
Kelly P.
We love our SpotOn collars. Our two Tibetan Mastiff puppies have done so well with them. Being able to look at my phone and see where they are at is so nice. We use these collars at multiple places and the dogs have done amazing with adjusting to the boundaries wherever we are at. Can’t recommend these collars enough.
April P.
I wanted to give it 5 stars. But I just can’t. After spending $3k on collars it has never worked as far as the fence. I have highly trained bloodhounds and they walk through it like it’s not even there. And yes, we did all the training and then some. Then we have about 100 acres they can roam but after using this product for a little over 6 months we have noticed the collars are having more and more trouble connecting to the app. For instance, I’m sitting here now typing up this review and I have no clue where my dogs are. I’ve done all of the things to resetting the phone , the app , uninstall, install again…… The app says they are right here with me on my porch but I assure you they aren’t. I’ve refreshed it 1 million times. I had basically succumb to the fact that this was just going to be used as a hella expensive tracking collar but now it isn’t even good for that.
Logan S.
LOVE IT! This was the first time we tried our 4 miniature dachshunds without a physical fence, a little skeptical and wasn’t sure if their necks may be too small. Training was a little rocky with some unwarranted distractions but they learned the new collars in a few weeks (most of the training together too). Love the product and already recommending it! So far it has proven to work great! It’s been about 1.5 months at this point and they have remained in the fence with distractions that would have taken them out for sure!
Kristyn B.
SPOT ON is PAWFECT
I'm settled knowing all 5 of my dogs are contained and I can watch where they are whenever my heart desires, The subscription to have the life tracking feature is definatley a peace of mind. With over 50 acres I can get updates at anything I want. Thank you for creating this product and THANK YOU for having the fastest and friendly customer service! I know dog owners are not easy to deal with and you have all been so pleasant!

I have had my collar replaced due to not catching enough satelites and it never kept my dog in the boundary thumbs down talked to multiple oeople with spot on and never fixed the holes in the fence

This is a great product with excellent customer service and responsiveness. We can create fences wherever we travel and know Lucky will be safe. I recommend this product with no reservations.

Incredibly disappointed for $800. This thing is not strong enough. My Doberman doesn’t even care about the shock level. It’s insignificant to him. Also, it only shocks him once and then he can stay in the area where he’s not supposed to doesn’t make any sense so basically if he crosses the border, he can stay there as long as he wants what good is that? It should continue to shock him until he goes back to where he belongs. What’s the point not to mention the cell reception on this thing is not accurate either.
Wayne R.
SpotOn is a real game changer! Over the decades of dog ownership, we've coped with installing expensive chain link fences, leashed dog runs, and frustrating, unreliable underground wired systems. Even when working, the very nature of can create holes that a dog soon discovers. Worst of all, the boundary punishes them when they try to re-enter!
Our Brittany Murphy has been wearing his SpotOn for 18 months and looks forward to being dressed in his collar.
We've created a dozen fences for the many places he visits. Unlike wired boundaries that require a dog to learn visual boundaries, Murphy's SpotOn collar audibly informs him where boundaries are, which he immediately recognizes on the run! He runs happily around brand new perimeters at full speed, exploring another place where he can romp! We've set up instant boundaries at rest stops that he recognizes right away.
Glitches and boundary shifting do occur from time to time, which are caused by solar flare activity. SpotOn has become aware of these fortunately rare occurrences, and notifies us when such flares are anticipated, so that we can remove his collar to prevent unwanted static accidents.
The reliability of the system is simply wonderful. It's always there, invisibly at work. The reliability of Murphy in heeding the boundary isn't! He's a very stout hearted, alpha male who will occasionally nonchalantly scoot through the highest static setting of his collar, given an irresistible and overwhelming attraction. SpotOn has that covered, too! It sends me an immediate notification that Murphy has escaped, and shows me exactly where he is.
Tracking mode requires a working cellphone signal that can communicate with both the collar and cellphone.
SpotOn support is absolutely fabulous. On the few occasions where the system has a software or firmware issue, their friendly telephone support in Manchester NH had Murphy's collar back in working order in minutes.
We love it!

I was very hopeful that I would be able to use Spot On for my dog so he would be safe when he is at the farm, at his dog-sitters as well as at home after reading all the reviews. However, following the trading guide was our demise. My dog was already trained on our home boundaries but crossed them when enticed by neighbors and wildlife so when I followed the training method the tones meant absolutely nothing to him and he was confused why I was all of the sudden walking the boundaries with him on leash again. I spent three weeks following the plan, then signed up for a 30 minute session with a trainer which he cut off at 20 minutes. What I got out of the session was that since my dog already knows the home boundaries, I was going to have to get him to cross the boundary and use a high static correction to help him figure out the tones. I tried this for two more weeks, training him at the farm rather than our home yard, and still, the tones didn’t register as a warning that crossing past the tone would result in an unpleasant correction. I was told by friends who use collars with their dogs that the collar is too loose so I requested a smaller collar, via email, but still haven’t received one after 10 days waiting. So after 7 weeks of failed training I have decided to return the product.

The Spoton collar was easy to setup and works great. Customer service is awesome.

We thought these would be perfect for our dogs, our first collar broke within 2 weeks from our dogs playing outside we were informed that you can’t just replace the plastic around them you have to replace the whole collar which is $1k, one collar dies in less than 24 hrs and only charges to 85%. We’re definitely disappointed to say the least we thought this would allow our dogs to roam but we found out it was dead one morning when they took off on us.
Shirin E.
I’m so frustrated with this collar. It always tells me there is no cell connection and won’t show me accurately where my dog is. It also gets warm and leaves marks on my dog’s neck. Really disappointing.

Spot on is great!!! We love it We live on a large farm with a lot of buildings and bins. We fenced off about 1 1/2 acres around our house and other buildings. Very easy to set up took us 20 min. Got the collars all done and let the dogs out. We worked with dog for 3 hours and they were trained !!!! We have Irish wolf hounds and they can be stubborn as 6 month olds. I love the fact that I can always track them during the day if we are gone and I trust the system fully. Never have we been so happy !!!! Thank You
Rindi D.
We have 60 acres of fairly dense woods at one property. The tracking capability is a huge relief when letting our pup off leash.
At a smaller property, we did notice there are frequent escapes. Don’t skimp on training if you are using the fence functionality.
Battery life is great. I love being able to switch between active tracking vs battery saving tracking that updates every 10ish minutes unless there is an escape.
Cheyenne
Unimpressed. Battery lasts about 48hrs. With training the collar only works on one of my two dogs… I left three stars because the app is really sweet and easy to use, and I was happy to be able to TRACK Sadie when she left the perimeter…
Robert S.
Thrilled with this device. We have a large yard with woods behind the house and all kinds of wild animals wandering about. And our German Shepard guards the yard and chases after any intruder-for for a half a mile or farther without the collar, But with the the collar on I have seen her hot on the heels of a Red Fox and come to a screeching halt at the GPS fence. Perfect!
We recently pulled the clip apart (our fault) and found the replacement part readily available at a fair price.
Thank you SpotOn for a great product.
Robert K.
After receiving the spot on collar , I opened up the app , registered the product , walked my property( lakefront with tree and grassy areas). I even went out into the water the width of my property. Took ten minutes and done.I then did three days of 10 minute training sessions( my dog is used to e-collar training). On day four she was free to roam our property and has not breeched the fence area once. Great product. I looked at all brands and settled on spot on because I didn’t want a monthly subscription.

I bought the collar in April 2004.
FIrst collar was defective and was replaced.
Set up a boundary fence around my property. Worked great for a year and a half. Dog wore collar inside the home and out.
Today, the dog got frantic inside the house. Collar was vibrating and when I tried to take it off I got shocked.
Called support. While I was texting, the collar was in my lap and started vibrating. I grabbed it and got shocked. AGAIN!
Dog is VERY UPSET. Won't enter the room where this happened.
Customer service says that I should have created a home zone. It seems that sometimes false corrections can occur in the home.
The setup instructions state, "To allow your dog to enter your home without being corrected, make sure the house is inside the fence area. "
For a year and a half, that worked fine. Until today.
Searching further on the site, under troubleshooting, there is an addendum that a dog can get corrected while inside. THERE IT IS STATED THAT A HOME ZONE IS NEEDED TO AVOID INSIDE CORRECTIONS.
It is a crying shame that they don't make that clear in the original setup instructions.
My dog won't enter the room where this happened, despite the fact that for two years he has never left my side. It will take quite a bit of training to regain his trust. He feels bad and I feel terrible.
Thank goodness I was home when this happened.
Never again.
The collar stays off.
I've asked for a full refund, but have been denied.
James
Fantastic product that works flawlessly .I highly recommend

First the collar works. Daisy has not once left the area sense training was finished. She has only received stimulation a couple of times. The reason it's a 4 and not a 5 is because of few things. First, I don't think the battery life is as advertised. Hers seems to decay at a rate that I don't think it would go 24hrs. I charge it every afternoon just in case something happened I'd be confident the collar was still functioning the next morning. Second the tracking app is very iffy. I have a hard time staying locked on to daisy. Daisy does not stay locked in the center of screen as she moves around the boundary. She doesn't leave it either.
Michele
I got this for my GSD puppy, of course I had to get a big collar that she had to grow into before we could use it, but the wait was totally worth it! I live so close to very busy roads and this collar keeps her off them! I know it is responsible for keeping her off them because before the collar I found her over on the road shoulder. Terrified me! Now she won't go to the end of our drive way even when company comes. We have 3 acres for her to run and she makes use of them. Then we got another puppy, got him a collar, didn't use it right away because again had to wait for him to grow up some. Then when I did start putting it on him for him to get used to the sounds etc it wasn't working. Even though we had the collar several months and he had been wearing it, they replaced it for us, so customer service is very good. Now his collar works great and he is staying safe, that however does not keep these too yahoos out of trouble, but it is trouble on our land, not the highway.
Patrick S.
Works great! Was easy to set up and the training guide was perfect. Our dog quickly learned the fence area and remains safely inside without worrying.
Rob O.
The collar worked for about 6 months but for the last year does not seem to effective at all on our 3 year old female Australian Shepherd.

Bagel is full of energy and wild sun up to sun down every day. Having the SpotOn Fence is freedom for her and peace of mind for me.
I was looking for something that would be able to keep her in check (she is a Great Pyrenees and Anatolian mix), perform well away from cellular service, and that I could take with me when we traveled. I did try the tracking service but only had two bars of service where I live which was not enough to operate the tracking features. So far, SpotOn has surpassed all my expectations. I am 100% satisfied and highly recommend SpotOn to anyone looking for safety and security for their dog.
Clarice T.
It works and my terrier respects it unless I am or prey is on the other side of the barrier. We are still working on that. The collar has a BIG learning curve. It is rather wide on a 30 lb dog and the battery heats up noticeably while using it. I might suggest making the tabs that connect and release the collar onto or from the dog’s neck a littler longer. I wish it could track in a 1/2 acre or less space. Our relative who keeps our dog when we are away lives in the city on a 1/4 acre lot. Your customer service is excellent and that made all the difference in deciding to keep or return the collar. The tracking is a wonderful feature that gives peace of mind to the owner. Overall it is an excellent option in keeping your pet safer than without it.

Terrible purchase! Way too expensive to work so poorly! Bought the collar in late November and didn't have a chance to really test it until March when winter was over. Our very small English Springer Spaniel would go through the fence without hesitation almost daily even in the max correction setting. Set up the fence boundary to match our old fence boundary which our dog was already trained to. Contacted SpotOn customer service in April about the issues and did all of the troubleshooting they recommended but still didn't keep her in the yard. They would not replace and refund the collar because it was past 90 days. Very disappointing.

This is the FOURTH gps fence collar we have bought and this is the only one that has really worked.
Amazing GPS coverage in rural area, even with tree coverage.
STOPPED my beagle in her tracks trying to chase a deer. With the other collars, she would be gone into the woods and it wouldn’t be able to track her any longer. She would be gone for hours and come back cut and bruised, soaked to the bone.
With the spot on tracker, she went a few feet into the woods, it alerted me immediately that she was out of bounds and she came back within seconds. I was able to see her location the entire time.

We bought spot on collars when we moved into our new home with almost 2.25 acres. Our two boys a Doberman and Pitbull have enjoyed them for almost a year. We were worried that it would take them a long time to get the hang of the collars due to coming from a fully fenced in (small) yard. It took maybe 3 days tops for them to get used to the boundaries, but after that they have really never "escaped" or ran off even with stimulus (cows and horses) across the street. The boys get so excited when they hear the collars coming if their charging docks. They both have broke the boundary a few times but immediately return. We give Spot On 5 stars on durability and ease of fitting and set up. We have had several false reports of the boys escaping while they were inside the house. Spot on does well on giving a push notification of geomagnetic storms that potentially could mess with the tracking and signals to the collars. All in all our experience has been wonderful and we highly recommend them.

We have 2 dogs currently using SpotOn and they work perfectly fine. The dogs learned super quick the parameters and they haven’t tried to cross the boundaries. I can monitor them accurately which makes my life much more relaxed knowing my pets are safe, and people and dogs around are safe as well. For me was very important to have my dogs feeling free and enjoying the yard. Thankfully, SpotOn exists. Happy fur babies, happy mom! 100% recommended.

The advertizing is very misleading as you do need a subscription for it to work AND if you have more than one dog you have to have separate everything! The website says you can have up to 3 dogs per subscription but no, each one has to have a separate line so it works for an extra $20 per month and managing a
separate subscription for each dog! R

I have been using this device with a Beagle for nearly two months. We live on a 17 acre parcel in a remote area. It is heavily wooded with a low level AT&T Cell Phone tower within a mile. The system is nice, when it works. It doesn't work in wooded areas, regardless of the advertised operation. I have to restrict the dog to about 2 acres around the house, where we have no trees. Even then, it sometimes fails to maintain Cell Tower Contact. Customer support was nice. They even sent out a new collar to see if that would work. No change. So, bottom line for me: This is an expensive option. If I could do it over again, I would choose a less expensive brand as I don't think it would work any less efficiently. The collar also is heavy and deletes the battery rather quickly. Fortunately, the dog has learned to return when called and does not chase deer. Expensive and of average reliability.

We’ve had the SpotOn dog collar for four years and have had three major issues with it not working properly during that time. Most recently, the collar stopped turning on completely. After contacting customer service, we were told it needs to be replaced, with a small discount offered, but we still have to pay a significant amount out of pocket.
For a collar this expensive, you’d expect durability and long-term reliability. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. Three breakdowns in four years and now we’re expected to buy another one?
Totally unacceptable for the price. This product does not hold up over time and the replacement policy is incredibly disappointing.
Do not recommend. Terrible product.

Great alternative to a traditional fence and it's portable. I moved 3 times and glad I invested in these collars. Another great thing is how portable they are to setup new fences and keep them stored. From taking to friends, camping and new homes they haven't failed yet.

Excellent Product! I followed the training plan from Spoton and it works!

These collars are the best. Yes, the collars are pricey but well worth your money. I no longer have to worry about my two 10 month old puppies at the cottage. I live in Ontario, Canada up near Bobcaygeon and the collars work great. I’m very happy with the app and collars. It took a few hours to set up the collars and figure out how it works. It took a bit of time get the boundary property line set up perfectly where I want it and the right level of shock on each collar. My dogs learned pretty quick to turn around once they hear the warning beep. I highly recommend this collar. I’m very happy my cottage summer isn’t ruined by always worrying about where the dogs are. Great product! I will definitely be referring Spot On Fence!

My dog is a rescue, we got her when she was about 8 weeks. I had never been worried about my previous dogs as far as wondering off or getting into the street; however, we had recently moved to the country with a busy street in our front yard. This collar has eased our minds as far as being worried about her (our dog) from being run over. It has only been a couple of weeks, so I am not positive if she will run through the warnings if tempted by a squirrel or deer since I haven’t proofed beyond the auditable (just don’t want to shock her if I don’t have to). I am impressed with this collar. The only problem is where I live the cell signal is intermittent, so the tracking is also. I haven’t tried it where a good cell signal is available, but when it is working here I love that feature. I really like the off grid function as well but I have yet to test it.

System works great. I use it at both our houses. One house is on a lake and collar works in the water.

I purchased two of these collars for my German shepherds. The idea is awesome but the color simply malfunction from time to time one of the colors in particular seems to shock my dog at various times when he’s in a safety zone I forever receive notices for both dogs that they have left my property line area and I’ll look outside and they’ll be on my porch so false leavings and also I’d have to think every time I get off false report that they left, but they got shocked the collar for my mail barely fits his neck. It’s on the last available adjustment Need to have a bigger collar for a bigger dogs. I ran all my updates like I’m supposed to, but like I say I get false notices of my dogs leaving the premises often there have been times that my dog has got shocked on my front porch and then has been scared to go off the front porch until I take the collar off to have two grand invested in these two colors. I’m not that happy.

I did a lot of home work before buying the spoton dog collar as I had never owned an E collar before. I have a 14 month old Labrabull and live on 5 acres of property. I wanted him to be able to roam free without concerns of him running off or getting into the road. The price of the spoton made me shy away at first but after calling spoton directly inorder to get some more info I was sold. The customer service and support is top notch. The collar itself is well made and in only 3 weeks of training Archie was wondering the property leash free. It is in my opion well worth the investment and I would recommend buying this product. If I get another dog I will definitely buy another Spoton collar.

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt like I needed to. I did a lot of research as to what gos fence I wanted and I ultimately chose spot on. My yard is pretty wooded and I felt the spot on was the best choice for me. After getting it adjusted I made my fence and started trying my dog. He picked it up pretty quickly. I even put a dog door in so he can come and go. The ability to have multiple fences is awesome. If we go away to visit friends and we bring our dog I will just make a fence on the way there. Once I get there I test my boundaries and he is happy to be free and run around without having a leash. I highly recommend it. Your dog will thank you.

I’m so disappointed in SpotOn. We have been using one collar and then got another dog so purchased a second collar because of having a great experience. Our collar stopped working after just over a year of ownership and were told that there is significant water damage and it will not be replaced. This is extremely confusing since the collar is advertised as being waterproof. I absolutely would not recommend that anyone purchase this product that costs 1k but only lasts a year. So incredibly disappointing.

SpotOn has been a total game changer for us. We had an invisible fence before but the wires kept breaking. Our property is large (70 acres) so it was incredibly hard to find the breaks. It was also impossible to set the fence so that the dogs could have access to the lake during the summer months, but not in the winter when they could run forever across the frozen lake. Problem solved with SpotOn - we simply set the perimeter out into the lake so that they could access a certain amount of the lake year round.
Also, because of the way SpotOn works (we don't have to run physical wires) we have been able to give our dogs access to a much larger part of the property, which they love. We've also been able to set up multiple zones so that we can keep our one dog, who doesn't love unknown humans, from going places where she might encounter someone like a FedEx driver.
We had a mamma otter and her baby under our dock this spring. The dogs were VERY interested in them, which could have been risky for all involved (otters can be a bit nasty if provoked, and we have a dog with strong prey drive, which could have been bad for the otters). Dealing with it was simple - we just changed the fence perimeter and trained them on the new boundary. Problem solved. Once the otters had moved on we moved the fence line back so that the dogs could have access to the lake again.
Our only challenge with the system is that if our dogs go adventuring in the back bush and don't come when called (very rare, but it has happened) there is no way to tell where you are on the GPS map vs. where the dogs are. With a big property you know you're in the general area, but it's hard to know exactly how close you are to the dogs when you're out searching for the little heathens.
We really love the system a lot. It gives our dogs an amazing quality of life and gives us total peace of mind. It has been a game changer for us and I can't say enough good things. It was well worth the investment!!!

We travel with our dogs to my parents who live in a really rural place and the clllars worked amazingly well. The cell signal was low so those features were spotty but it didnt affect the collars working and i love that!

First of all, I want to thank you for your “Excellent“ customer service And great product. I am truly amazed at how good this product works. Very easy to set up and train my Aussie, Peggy Sue. After about three trips around the perimeter, she knew how it worked. She now has freedom to run on several acres in the country and I have no worries about her escaping. Again, thank you very much for an excellent product and service.

This collar may be a little pricey but it’s been so so worth it for our Corso Freyja. She trained to it in a couple of days and it gives her the freedom on our property that we could never have done with in ground or physical fences. She has a summer fence that gives her swimming access(permanently damp dog) and a winter one that keeps her off the icy pond. She knows the boundary so well I have to take her on a leash to the pond once or twice until she understands the boundary has moved. The customer service has been wonderful also. A buckle broke and they replaced it quickly. Charger was wonky, they replaced it, all through the chat feature. I’ve recommended Spot on to everyone I know that has a bit of acreage and a dog.

At first I didn’t know if it would actually work on our Maremma Sheepdog but after a month of training and figuring out what settings worked for him Spot On has been amazing!!!! Our sheepdog gets to be out with our goats as much as he wants , gets to run around free all while staying safe!! Our property is close to a road and it’s been such a peace of mind knowing he won’t get out or hurt!

Penny loves the freedom the SpotOn collar allows. Once she learned the border and correction things have been great.

Adopted my buddy Fudge from a shelter. A friend that raises coonhounds said he is likely a black and tan beagle mix. Either way, he follows his nose and was difficult to recall when he was on a scent. I’ve had experience with wired fences. A full day to get it buried and the wire would break on occasion. We moved to a property with 6 acres. My family also has a property on 12. Both fences were simple to set up, maybe 5 minutes. Training took 2-3 weeks. He has tested the boundary 2-3 times to return after a few seconds. Spot on has given him a safe environment. We can let him out unsupervised and he can sniff until he is content. He recalls well now. The only knock against would be battery life and notification. When the battery gets bellow %15 I am unable to track in the app. Regardless, I would %100 recommend spot on for anyone with a few acres or more. It has taken all the stress away from letting my buddy Fudge run free!

Our small English Springer breaks through the fence daily without hesitation even on the max setting. Our old fence was in a similar location so she was basically trained on it from the start. I did all of the troubleshooting recommended by customer service and they said the collar was working correctly but it still wasn't keeping our dog in the yard. They refused to daily or refund the collar so now I'm stuck with this $1,000 collar that doesn't work. Don't buy it!
Roydrick T.
Both of my puppies learned maybe in the first day how to respect the perimeter that was super easy to establish.
Every blue moon now they may chase a squirrel being the boundary, but they’re quickly adjusted from the vibration or a short static.
This is after maybe four months of use and I’m highly pleased.

I really did a lot of research before I took the leap with spot on. I followed the training protocol and have my dog using her collar daily. Because we have poor cell service in my area, my blue tooth did not stay connected during training, which made hearing the warning alarms impossible. I do not have head phones and live in a rural area, so couldn’t just run to the store to buy some. I think the actual alarm on the collar should be louder. It would make training so much easier. Other than that, I am loving this collar and the piece of mind it gives me when my dog is outside with or without me. I would buy it again!

Spoton was a great investment for us and our Bo boy. We have 28 acres that he can roam free. With GPS feature i can always keep up with his location. Simple to use and he learned in under a day his boundaries. More expensive than other brands but definitely worth it. Customer service is excellent!

#1 Customer Service. Spot on stands 100% behind their GPS collar.
It didn't take long to train my dog. It gives me a peace of mind that he can freely roam on our 5 acre property knowing his boundaries. Also, I take it on our travels and in minutes I have new fences in place.
Highly recommend this gps collar.
Thank you Spot On

SpotOn collar has been great. Aside from occasional buffering when on the Mississippi River and close to buildings the collar has kept our pup safe and our minds at ease. Definitely worth the money.
Debi T.
I'm returning it! I've tried it out for 2 months, but it doesn't work with my dog (German Shepherd/Husky). The shocking, even on it's highest setting, is not enough of a deterrence to keep her in our boundaries. The GPS moves way more than advertised. I can't even set my pole barn as a safe zone since the GPS will move well over 50' and correct her while she's in the barn. And at times the GPS doesn't even attempt to correct her until she's well past the outside boundary. We live around fields, so once she get's the feel of the freedom from the corn or tall grass, she's gone. Half the time the collar disconnects from the app and wont reconnect even when we are 15' apart. It's not what we expected and way too much of a hassle for being $1000!

I absolutely loved everything about this collar. The only issue I have with it is the static correction that it gives does not last long enough to cause a correction. I have a large dog breed and the very quick static correction that the collar gives does not really work on her. Especially if you are trying to do a manual correction. I wish that the system would allow you to give a longer static burst when needed. Also having to go into a separate screen to do a manual correction just made it more complicated and time consuming especially if you have to use it quickly.
