THE WORLD IS YOUR BACKYARD
THE WORLD IS YOUR BACKYARD
With setup and training complete, you and your pet are ready to enjoy the full benefits of the SpotOn system.
FOR THE BACKYARD...
The SpotOn System allows you to create a virtual smart fence around your property with more advanced containment capabilities than buried-wire fence systems—and without the associated maintainance costs. As long as global navigation satellite systems are orbiting the planet, your pup can have a virtual smart fence that keeps him secure.
...AND BEYOND
By enabling you to reliably contain your dog almost anywhere, the SpotOn System adds safety to familiar locations, while also letting you explore new and exciting places that might otherwise be too impractical or risky. With the SpotOn System, your furry friend can take part in all the adventures that make your life fulfilling and fun.
GETTING TO KNOW THE
SPOTON SYSTEM
Here’s a quick look at what it’s like to add the SpotOn System to your routine:
Hook Up...
The SpotOn System works with global navigation satellite systems to make and maintain virtual smart fences; connects to AT&T and T-Mobile cellular networks to power a full suite of connectivity features, including tracking; and uses Bluetooth technology to link the SpotOn Collar with your smartphone for tracking. Before attempting to set up a virtual smart fence:
Register your collar by following the instructions in your Quick Start Guide.
Activate 60 days of complimentary connectivity services ($6.95 per month after trial period) at spotoncollar.pet/activate.
Connect to Bluetooth to train your dog and adjust static correction.
Set up...
When you walk the perimeter of your property to create a virtual smart fence for your dog, you’ll hold the SpotOn Collar at chest height, with the antenna facing directly toward the sky. This will ensure the clearest possible communication between the collar and the global navigation satellite systems that make and maintain the shape and location of your virtual smart fences. Watch our handy how-to video.
Get Up!
Fully engaged training sessions with your dog are key to success with the SpotOn System. Before attempting to use SpotOn as a containment system, you’ll have to teach your dog to recognize his boundaries. Have some fun together! Go outside and complete one of our custom training plans.
IS SPOTON RIGHT FOR YOU?
To make sure the SpotOn System is right for you and your dog, please check the following important details before purchasing:
01 Dog’s Size
Please measure your dog’s neck using the instructions provided on our product page. For the SpotOn Collar to work correctly, your dog’s neck must be either 13”-17” (for a medium-sized collar), or 17”-24” (for a large-sized collar.) Please note that SpotOn Collars generally fit best on dogs that weigh between 25 and 150 pounds (while there are exceptions to this based on breed and shape, this is a good rule to consider).
02 Geography
Please carefully check (or measure) the size of your property, to make sure the SpotOn System will work correctly on it: in most cases, properties must be a minimum of ½ an acre to properly support the SpotOn System. When measuring your property, remember that GPS accuracy can vary up to 10 feet. Please ensure that you have good cellular service coverage in any area where you plan to track your dog.
If you are unsure whether your yard is right for the SpotOn System, please call or email us at support@spotonfence.com—we’d love to help you make an informed decision!
03 You and Your Dog
Please keep in mind that it will take you and your dog a bit of time to get fully familiar and comfortable with the SpotOn System; setting that time aside and being patient during setup and training will help ensure success. Comfort with new technology and previous basic training experience will make the process easier for both of you. As a general rule, you should plan to train with your dog about three hours per week for the first two to four weeks that you are using the System.
04 Collar Care
Though the SpotOn Collar is waterproof and made from durable materials, even it can’t stand up to a determined chewer! If your dog is a chewer, you’ll need to make sure that the Collar is safely removed and stored when not in use. If your dog roughhouses with other dogs, please monitor their activity to prevent damage to the Collar, or remove it during playtime.
SECURITY & LOVE
Your dog brings you joy like no one else can. You want to give her the whole wide world to run around in.
The SpotOn System makes the world safe for your best friend, so the two of you can bond—wherever your feet and her paws may take you.
